When the player lands a headshot on an enemy wearing headgear, the headgear will be knocked off and sent flying to the ground. This effect applies only to headshots made by the player. The headgear is instantly knocked off upon impact, with no delay, as the effect is processed directly through F4SE.

In the MCM, you can adjust the probability, force, and angle at which the headgear is knocked off. Additionally, you can manage the Exception Filter Registration directly from the MCM menu to prevent certain headgear from being knocked off.

Exception Filter Registration
If certain headgear appears awkward when knocked off or floats in mid-air, you can prevent it from being knocked off entirely using the "Exception Filter Registration" feature, which can be found in the MCM.

To use this feature:
1. Set the 'Exception Filter Registration' option in the MCM to ON
2. Close the MCM, which will open the container menu
3. Place the headgear you want to prevent from being knocked off into the container
Once the headgear is placed in the container, it will no longer be knocked off. To cancel the registration, simply take the headgear back from the container

note :
If you encounter an error when registering filters, please refer to the pinned comment in the Post tab for guidance.

2.1.3 Update:
- The 'Non-sniper rifles always knock off helmets on target death' option has been added to the MCM menu. In the previous version, helmets were always knocked off on headshot kills, even with non-sniper rifles. However, after testing, it seemed that some users might not prefer this, so the option has been added. Users who prefer not to have helmets knocked off automatically can disable this option.
- Both body slot (slot 33) and chest slot (slot 36) are now checked to prevent knock-off for armor models that combine the helmet and torso into one piece.
- The filter file is now created in MO2's overwrite folder to prevent it from being overwritten during mod updates. If you encounter an error when registering filters, please refer to the pinned comment in the Post tab for guidance.
