About this mod
This mod adds holotapes from various Videos of the Wasteland add-ons to Fallout 4’s leveled lists, allowing them to spawn in the world instead of just being crafted at the VotW workbench (too easy, right?). Crafting now requires Holotape Parts, so using the workbench doesn’t feel like cheating. You can also scrap the holotapes in VotW Workbench

Don’t you get bored when life hands you everything on a silver platter? Want to feel like a true collector? That’s where Hunt for Holotapes comes in! I’ve added holotapes from several of my favorite VotW add-ons into the Leveled Lists, so now you’ll need to put in some effort to find these holotapes. They can now rarely be found in various containers, as well as in the pocketses of feral ghouls, raiders, gunners, pre-war safes, pre-war trunks, suitcases, and even in the stomachs of certain creatures (they probably ate some other collector or something).
Are you going crazy because you can’t find that one holotape you want the most? Worry no more! Be sure to search all trash cans and bins you come across, because there might be a broken holotape that you can fix if you find enough to combine them into one! Holotape parts can be found in various places (similar to the holotapes, excluding NPCs), mostly in various trash containers.
Do you have drawers full of duplicate holotapes and are you mad that no vendor will buy them? Scream in frustration no more! Boil 'em, scrap 'em, stick 'em in a stew! Holotapes are now scrappable in the Videos of the Wasteland Workbench under SCRAP HOLOTAPE (the recipe will only appear for tapes currently in your inventory). You get Holotape parts, you get Holotape parts—everybody gets Holotape parts!
Do you want a “search all over the place” experience? Now you can! With the help of powerofthree's Base Object Swapper, holotapes can now rarely appear anywhere you might find ashtrays, empty beer bottles, and coffee cups lying around. This feature is optional.

Version 3.2 adds holotape scrapping feature (thanks to amazing Qrsr)! The scrapping is done through Videos of the Wasteland Workbench (SCRAP HOLOTAPE section will appear for the holotapes you have in your inventory). 1 holotape will scrap into 1 Holotape parts (which can be scrapped further into circuitry or used for crafting holotapes). Also I decided to discontinue support for The Thing from Another World ESP (so only ESL will be supported). Fixed FOMOD that would not autodetect correctly one of the addons. Should be safe to update.
Version 3.1 adds support for more add-ons. Drop chances have also been lowered even further, as the current state was not what I originally intended for this mod. Check the list of supported add-ons below for the full details.
Version 3.0.2 Did some testing and found out that the chances are getting a little bit crazy, so I lowered them.
Version 3.0.1 Added support for The Thing from Another World - Premium Combo (ESL). Added The Thing from Another World to the swapper ini.
Version 3.0 I’ve rewritten the mod from scratch. Now it doesn’t alter vanilla Leveled Lists but instead injects Leveled Items via script. Each add-on has its own script, so now you can choose ONLY THE ADD-ONS YOU REALLY WANT OR HAVE! Huge thanks to shreddah4 who told me how to do that. The new FOMOD will now autodetect only the add-ons you have and will install scripts only for those. The downside is that there’s now a slightly higher chance for drops, as the LL will roll for each add-on (meaning there’s a small chance that enemies and containers will drop two or more holotapes instead of always just one like before) but it should be no problem to adjust chances if enough ppl ask me to. Also, this mod now includes scripts, so I’m not sure if it would be safe to uninstall mid-play. If you’re updating from an older version (anything 2.x.x), don’t worry, it should be safe to remove the old one and install the new one. Just ignore the missing ESP warning when launching your save after the update. Now supports also The Thing from Another World (for VotW), theres a small conflict with Superman addon but you don't have to pay attention to it, its nothing serious.

This is my first mod ever. I created it using xEdit and Creation Kit. I have no idea if it could cause any incompatibilities. I don't really know what I'm doing, because I'm something of a Todd Howard myself - It just works!

Also, if you’re just installing the required add-ons, remember to install them one by one. Otherwise, it could cause issues, such as holotapes playing a video from a different holotape than they should. By "one by one," I mean: INSTALL ONE ADD-ON > OPEN GAME > SAVE GAME > EXIT > INSTALL SECOND ADD-ON, and so on.Let me know in the comments how the mod is working for you, what you think about the drop chances, and feel free to share any feedback or ideas you have!
Installation:
1. Use your mod manager of choice
2. The FOMOD should autodetect your active esp and esl addons. If some addon is not ticked automatically, you either have the plugin disabled or missing completely.
Load order:
AFTER Videos of the Wasteland and addons (or simply use LOOT)
