Permissions and credits

This mod adds the 'Settlement Junk Scrapper' and 'Settlement Bottlecap Manufacturing Machine' to the settlement build menu, allowing you to easily print bottlecaps from junk and other items. Vanilla machines have weak operating sounds and slow movements, so these have been adjusted to produce stronger actions and impact sounds.

Requires any version of F4SE and the Contraptions DLC.

To build the machines, go to the settlement build menu under POWER > MANUFACTURING > MACHINERY, and look for the two machines starting with 'Settlement'.

Settlement Junk Scrapper:
After connecting power, activate the machine to open the container menu, and when you close it, the machine will scrap the items inside and place them in the Materials Box to be sent out on the conveyor belt. Items that are not considered junk will not be scrapped and will be sent directly to the Materials Box as they are.

By connecting a terminal to the machine, additional features can be accessed. If activated, non-junk items will be converted into Steel, based on the value divided by a number set in the MCM from their store sale price, and placed into the box. The default will yield Steel equal to half of the item's store sale price.

Settlement Bottlecap Manufacturing Machine:
This machine is activated by the player to open the container menu. When the container menu is closed, or when the Materials Box sent out by the Junk Scrapper reaches the conveyor belt, the machine will scan the scrap materials inside and continuously produce 100 bottlecaps based on the quantity of materials. The default requires 50 materials to produce 100 bottlecaps.

Similarly, by connecting a terminal, you can configure the machine to use materials such as steel, as well as aluminum, plastic, lead, copper, gold, and silver. It will calculate based on the quantity of the materials themselves, not the junk that contains the components. These terminal menu settings apply to all machines, not just each individual one.

The Cap Machine allows you to directly insert materials to create bottlecaps, but this can be tedious. For more convenient use, simply snap the Cap Machine next to the Junk Scrapper. Once you place junk into the Scrapper, it will be scrapped and sent to the Cap Machine, which will then produce bottlecaps. Additionally, if you install a Conveyor Storage to the right of the Cap Machine, the bottlecaps produced will automatically be stored in the storage according to the game’s system.

In the MCM's Bottlecap Manufacturing Machine menu, you can adjust the conversion rates. For balance, the required materials are set to a slightly higher amount, but feel free to adjust it to your liking. Since this menu uses terms and mechanics that don't quite fit with the machinery, it has been placed in the MCM menu rather than the terminal menu.

Due to the game's system and the way the mod is implemented, the machines stop working when unloaded and resume only when reloaded. I tried keeping them running continuously, but it didn’t add much fun, so I decided to leave it as is. If there are enough requests, I may add an option in the future.

Although it's an ESP file, it has the ESL flag set, so it behaves like an ESL file, meaning you don't have to worry about exceeding the index limit when adding the mod.
