The vanilla Hunting Rifle's biggest problem (in my humble opinion) is how sluggish it is to shoot. It's the post apocalypse, Sole Survivor! You should be cycling that bolt like you mean it!
Now - through the magic of xEdit - you finally can.

  • Stock receiver fire rate(s) should now match that of vanilla's tuned receiver. This makes it at least 25% faster to fire, and much more fun to use in my personal opinion
  • Tuned receiver remains considerably faster than stock, for all you sickos who love spraying .308 everywhere
  • On the other hand, the .50 receiver has been given a slower fire rate and reload speed to balance against the damage increase. This tradeoff makes it feel more like the poor man's Anti-Material Rifle that BGS probably intended it to be

For best results pair with Hitman47101's Hunting Rifle Animation Replacer and Diakyuto's HR Animation Replacer - Anim & Mesh Tweak, but will work just fine on vanilla anims as well.

With the 2.0 update comes an optional file tweaking some dynamic naming tags in INNR to keep the Hunting Rifle from being renamed 'Sniper Rifle' when attaching any kind of long barrel weapon mod at the workbench. This is useful for folks running a mod that adds or renames its own Sniper Rifle to the pool of vanilla weapons (like codeblackcrash's Unofficial Update to the DKS-501, for example), or for players who have the same brain worms about this sort of thing as I do.

And after some testing I am beyond pleased to report it is completely compatible with DegenerateDak's Attachment Pack, simply make sure Mad Minute is below it and the rest of your AttPack suite in your load order!

Tested on Old-Gen but it's literally just an FO4edit so NG users should be fine to download. Let me know if it somehow breaks something

ESL-flagged ESPs, shouldn't take up a load order slot.

Install with Mod Organizer 2 or through your method of choice.
