What's new in ver.1.1.1?

  • Add settings holotape inside the tower in her home
  • Using the holotape, now NPCs can be set to FOLLOW and UNFOLLOW

NOTE: It is advised to do clean save before updating the mod.
Before updating: Go in-game >> enter any interior room/cell >> save and exit >> remove old version >> go in-game from the last save >> save and exit >> install new version >> play and test it.


What does this mod do?
Inspired by DJ Travis Miles quest, this mod adds an NPC doctor who travels with you everywhere and acts as a “semi-companion”.

Who is he/she?
A basic, simple and lore-friendly NPC female doctor with some interesting background, who offers general medical services.

What does she do?
- Offers medical vendor services
- Travels with you everywhere
- Serves as your fire support in combat
- She heals herself, no need to "stimpak" her
- She sometimes heals your injured limbs in combat
- She's after profit... for obvious reasons
- Look closely around her, there's 5 notes scattered around her place, and you'll find hints a bit of her backstory
- This mod requires no dependencies from other mods, or other Fallout 4 DLC

Where can I find her?
- Head west from ArcJet Systems (second quest with Paladin Danse), or south from Lonely Chapel. She's somewhere between two ponds. Watch out for the raider-infested hideout nearby.
- Check her surroundings, go to the room in the taller structure, then automatically she will approach and follow you.
- Console command to location >> coc POIJoel01

What does this mod have planned for the future?
Since I'm new and have very limited skills with the Creation Kit, this is all this mod has to offer at least for now. However, I still plan to improve this mod later by adding:
- Perfecting her abilities
- Some side-quests to explain her story
- Full companion mode (optional) unlocked after finishing her future side-quests

Expected bugs/glitches/quirks:
- She acts like a normal NPC around Power Armor, she might use it in combat.
- Expected glitches during dialogue, when she uses Power Armor (Fallout engine limitation)
> Because it's buggy, by default she will not use power armor in newest update. <
- Possible repeated dialogue when offering medical services
- Possible glow glitches on her clothing (Fallout engine limitation)
- It's normal when Tanya or other NPC sometimes stuck when wandering around her "home", because the "pathing meshes" is not implemented yet.
- The author never tested this mods on Next Gen ver. But it is tested by several people that it's worked. So do it at your own risk.

FAQ/Troubleshoot

  • Why no recruitment dialogue?
She is not really a "true companion", so in that sense, you can't actually "recruit" her. She’s just follow you along. That’s why she doesn't take up a vanilla companion slot. It’s actually a workaround and intended that way, because “normally” by vanilla engine limitation, a vendor (doctor, merchant, etc) shouldn’t be a companion, because it can’t messed up the normal companion dialogue and trade option. There’s an exception like the companion from Nuka World, but his behaviour is limited and his scripting is too complex for me at least for now because i’m new to Creation Kit. That’s why.

Solution: Sure you can still “force recruit” her via another follower mods like AFT or the like, that can turn every single npc into companion, or just embrace as it is.

Lore-friendly reason: Tanya sees you as a “potential volunteer” for her project and she’s decided to follow you around to examine you. So she’s not really sworn to carry your burden. It will explained later in the future updates, when her side-quests and full companion mode is ready.

  • Why she’s not following me the first time my player character meet her?
On newest update, she will start following you, after you checked out the surroundings, especially after you go to the taller new structure

Solution: Go to the taller structure nearby, then after you enter the room and snooping around she will automatically follow your player character.

Lore-friendly reason: Why bother following some stranger in the wasteland, who even not interested to using her services/skill. She’s an entrepreneur, she’s there to making some caps.

  • Why she’s gone? She’s following me just fine the first time i meet her. Where is she?
Her behaviour is fixed on newest update, she comes with a personal location marker quest after she following you the first time. Just in case this ever happen again.

Solution: Just check out "Quest > Miscellaneous" section, then activate Tanya location marker.

Lore-friendly reason: She’s making a quickstop to write her analysis or findings.

  • She's not there after using Unfollow and then Follow option?
When not following, she will back to her place. When player use "Follow" option, she will eventually catch up with player. To make sure just sleep/wait/fast travel/go to interior cell. She will showed up.

Solution: Try Sleep / Wait / Fast-Travel / go to interior if u in exterior, vice versa.

Lore-friendly reason: Sadly us mere mortal can't tame and ride radscorpion who can teleport thru hole instantly.
