CURRENTLY WORKING ON Resolving an issue with the 2.5x Pipe Rifle Combat Scope Resolving an issue with the "No Ripple Effect" patch for the Recon Combat Scopes
Not being able to sprint or melee bug should now be fixed with 2.5.1 If you were experiencing the issue, update the mod, and switch to 3rd person and back to 1st person. That should fix the issue. A quick aim cycle (start aiming, stop aiming) should also help.

Tactical Reload Patch Repository, See Through Scopes Patch This mod now has a native, togglable patch for Tactical Reload (v1.1). You can enable the patch in the See Through Scopes Settings holotape, under the patches section. For this to work, make sure 3dscopes loads AFTER Tactical Reload. Note: The patch from the patch repository is unfortunately broken. It flips the hold breath effect, meaning the scope starts moving as soon as you START holding your breath.

This should fix the issue.
Better Weapon Mod Descriptions Patch Reason: Patch for a much older version Effects: Invisible scope models, crashes when selecting a 8x Combat Scope for the Combat Rifle

COMMON ISSUES
Spoiler:

Chameleon Armor/Stealth Boy/Invisibilty also hides the crosshair
Spoiler:

This is also an issue with vanilla reflex sights. The invisibility effect makes your entire character, and by extension your weapon, invisible. As such, there is nothing I can really do to fix this issue, besides disabling the invisibility visual effect entirely.
Upside Down Scopes / Custom FOV (3rd/1st person FOV mismatch)
Spoiler:
Show
Setting a custom FOV, and mismatching the third and first person FOV can cause weird effects, like the scopes appearing upside down when aiming. To fix this, make sure your third and first person FOV match. You can do this using the console with the following command: fov 90 90 Replace both "90" values with your desired FOV.
Can not enable mod / game crashes on startup with mod enabled
Spoiler:
Show
The most common reason for this happening is a game that is not up to date. Easiest fix would be to update the game. If for whatever reason you can not or do not want to do that, then you can try changing the ESP version number. To do this, you need FO4Edit. Open the 3dscopes(-replacer).esp file using FO4Edit. In the "Header" section, look under "HEDR - Header" > "Version". Change the value from "1.00000" to "0.950000". Save the file. See if this fixes the issue. NOTE: this should work, if your game is indeed not up to date, but it can yield unexpected behavior as well. No guarantees this fixes the mod entirely, since the ESP version is technically speaking different.
Custom Player Scale

Adjusting the player scale leads to scope alignment issues. There is a fix, in the form of this mod: Custom Scale Fix. Thanks to SeongGino for bringing this up
Wobble Effect is not working / Hold Breath does nothing
Spoiler:
Show
This might be caused by a mod conflict. Check if the following loose file is in your Data folder: Data\Meshes\Actors\Character\_1stPerson\Behaviors\GunBehavior.hkx It is most commonly added by Weapon Jiggle Remover. The installer has a patch for it.
Another reason might be that the script controlling the Hold Breath feature has died. See the "Blur is not working" issue.
Animation Issues
Spoiler:
Show
If you have a weapon with custom animations installed and it is acting weird when this mod is installed, try the following: - Disable See Through Scopes - Open the Console and enter the following two commands: player.modav leftattackcondition -100 player.modav rightattackcondition -100 - 99 out of a 100 times, the same issue will present itself. If so, then hooray, the "crippled arms" animation for that weapon mod is broken. Report it to the author so he can fix it. Usually, vanilla animations fix the problem just fine (Combat Rifle / .44 Revolver). Hint: its the "WPNIdleSightedWobble.hkx" file that needs to be fixed.
The Blur Effect/Forced First Person Perspective is not working
Spoiler:
Show
First, make sure it is enabled, and also check for which sights it should work. The Blur Effect is applied to the same sights the Hold Breath feature is enabled for. After checking this, check if this Blur Effect is applied when aiming with an appropriate sight. Double check by using a See Through Scope with at least 4x magnification. If no Blur Effect is applied, the script controlling this behavior has most likely died. To re-enable, execute the following console commands: CallQuestFunction SeeThroughScopesControllerQuest terminateMod CallQuestFunction SeeThroughScopesControllerQuest initMod
The Hold Breath feature is flipped. Scopes start moving when I trigger the Hold Breath prompt
Spoiler:
Show
You most likely have the patch from the Tactical Reload Patch Repository for this mod installed. This patch is, unfortunately, broken. It flips the Hold Breath states, meaning your aim is steady when you are not holding your breath. It is highly recommended to disable this patch. Since version 2.5, this mod comes with a native Tactical Reload patch. You can enable the patch in the See Through Settings Holotape. For this to work, make sure to load the 3dscopes ESP AFTER tactical reload.
THIS MOD AND VR I do not have a VR setup myself, but what I've been told by other people: The scopes do function, but do not zoom in properly. If you lost/removed the holotape: you can craft a new one at the chemistry station You can remove the quest-item settings holotape by following these steps: Open de console and enter: help "see through scopes" 4 This should result in something like: ---- OTHER FORMS--------------- NOTE: (XX00465C) '(See Through Scopes) Settings' TERM: (XX00465D) 'See Through Scopes Settings'The ACTUAL value of the XX's depends on your load order. For example, for me it was 0F00465C and 0F00465D. All you have to do now, is execute a remove command for the '(See Through Scopes) Settings' item, which is the following command: player.removeitem XX00465CRemember to replace the XX's with the values you just got from the help command.
Fantastic mod, only downside is I am having issues getting it to work with hold breath. When I press the melee key it doesn't hold breath but it instead does the melee attack.
Sounds like a mod conflict. Try moving the 3dscopes ESP to the bottom of your load order, and see if that fixes the issue. If that is the case, then try to determine what other mod is now broken. Its probably an animation overhaul mod, like Tactical Reload. A patch for Tactical Reload v1.1 is available in-game, using the STS Settings Holotape.
If some other mod is now broken and I don't have a patch for it, please let me know. In the mean time, determine which feature you rather have. You can disable the Hold Breath feature using the STS Settings Holotape to get rid of the tooltip.
For Sim Settlement 2 users : See through scope has a conflict with SS2. If you have a weapon equiped with a see through scope mod it can hang the dialog. The link below is about a dialog in "Where is the smoke" quest but I also got it in the first quest with jake...
Odd issue-the scopes are all there but in the wrong position on the weapon. Sometimes in the stock, sometimes just VERY far back. Thus, when I go to aim, they simply do not work. Is there a fix?
Sounds like you have an addon patch installed for a weapon you do not have, or there is a version mismatch for said weapon. Alternatively, you have a weapon overhaul mod installed that edits vanilla keywords.
Try disabling all addon patches one by one (or a few at a time) to see which one is causing the issue
I have a problem with the 2.6.1 version set with "Replace". For some reason, the hold breath doesn't work, but it does in Power Armor. i really have no idea. last time i played was 2020, maybe. with 2.3.5 everything worked if i remember correctly... this is not such a serious problem, everything else works, but this is part of the mod and it is not available to me... so just kinda sad I tried every setting in the holotape, reinstalled it. nope still the same. Any ideas?
Sounds like a mod conflict. Do you happen to have anything like Tactical Reload installed, or any other mod that affects weapon animations in first person?
when i downloaded zenits ak https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/64111 its also downloaded Zenits tacticalreloadPatch esp but its off (disabled). i also have "Extended Weapon Systems" https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/48834 for the "PKM - Machine Gun" https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/56969 . other mods they should not interfere in any way... Again, mods work, just hold breath doesn't. Character melee hits instead, but it works in power armor. Here i made 2 vids. so its easier to understand : https://youtu.be/VFfjMfi_kVY https://youtu.be/C2cIaioDv3s Thank you so much for your help, even if we can't get it to work, and just thank you for a reply, and the mod itself.
Extended Weapon Systems is the most likely culprit here. Try disabling it, or moving the 3dscopes ESP to load AFTER Extended Weapon Systems to see if that fixes the issue. This will probably break Extended Weapon Systems though
Yeah, that was the culprit. I tried a couple of things (set it to load AFTER, delete the melee hkx file, looked for patches through Requirements), but it didn't help. Well, goodbye to PKM and the Extended weapon system. im actually fine with that. Thanks for help.
Thank you for making this and providing so many patches, especially for the CC weapons which don't usually get much if any attention.
I'm trying to patch your "classic 10mm Pistol" patch to work with a resized mesh which is 20% smaller. I've got no experience with mesh editing but I went into Nifskope and resized the scopes to fit on the smaller scope mount. I ended up having a correctly sized scope (and it's mount) which was too high clipping into the gun and the STS lens that appears when aiming in was still alligned to the original model so it appeared in the air (I haven't tried messing with that yet).
I'm having trouble with the provided guide but I'll try my best to get it done. I Thank you for making this and supporting it so extensively because seeing this over the same overlay over the screen all the time is so nice. 👍🏻
This is usually caused by custom apparel, most commonly back packs. Try removing all your armor/clothes, see if the issues persist. If not, try out the armor/clothes until the issue reappears. Usually its backpacks, full body armor or right arm pieces.
Hello, on my Gauss rifle with the recon scope I have two dots. A green and a red one. The green one is the one actually for the aiming. Is this intended?
Yes. The green one is on target when at 0 charge. When at 100% charge, the gun tilts down (at least with vanilla animations), and the red dot will be on target.
I just found out, that the gauss rifle is even stronger. :D I did not knew, that I can charge the gun. I still have the feeling, that the green one is on target with 100% charge, but I need more testing. Maybe the distance plays a part here.
Just wondering the same question today, good catch. FYI: If you want a one-dot-save-all solution, check out here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/55529?tab=posts This fixes lowered barrel from its root, also works with iron sights and reflexes

- Open the Console and enter the following two commands:
player.modav leftattackcondition -100

If so, then hooray, the "crippled arms" animation for that weapon mod is broken.
Report it to the author so he can fix it. Usually, vanilla animations fix the problem just fine (Combat Rifle / .44 Revolver).
Hint: its the "WPNIdleSightedWobble.hkx" file that needs to be fixed.
The Blur Effect/Forced First Person Perspective is not working
First, make sure it is enabled, and also check for which sights it should work. The Blur Effect is applied to the same sights the Hold Breath feature is enabled for.
After checking this, check if this Blur Effect is applied when aiming with an appropriate sight.

GETTING/REMOVING THE SETTINGS HOLOTAPE
