Why wasn't script extender included?  you don't even recommend as a necessary download. I try and play, game crash, load back up and first conversation I have I get the notification F4SE isn't downloaded.

F4se is included and integrated --- the problem is usually how people start the game

Most often, they're still activating play from the vanilla f04 launcher, which initializes the fallot4.exe not f4se_loader.exe like is required

Other times they're using a mod manager but haven't properly configured f4se.

And still the other one is sometimes the vanilla launcher pops up on initial start even with mod manager or gog galaxy properly configured so they hit play instead of closing it and trying to run it again

In the base directory created by the GOG installer. For example, C:\Fallout London\f4se_loader.exe. After completing the installation, that same file will be in your base Fallout 4 directory. Be sure to read the install directions on FOLON's page or the GOG store page.

If using a mod manager, like Mod Organizer 2, you should configure the manager to use F4SE's launch options. The F4SE page has installation instructions, there are dozens of guides on the web, and managers like MO2 have tutorials and guides as well.

Hello there. I'm a returning player after the initial release.
Has anything changed regarding the recommended mods? (I see nothing on this page has been updated since Oct 2024)

I hope the team is all doing well :)

Please never give away your steam info, no matter how reputable the source it's still shady. Please use Simple Fallout 4 Downgrader instead.

Question: you recommend"01 - x-cell" but that one requires " unofficial fallout 4 patch " but some says you should not install london with that patch... so what should I really do?

You do not need UFO4P as noted on X-Cell's required mods sections: UFO4P Fixes missing facegen original npc.

You could be the most trusted and reputable group out there and I still won't give you my login info, you've got to be out of your mind to think that is a good idea.

There is no way I'm giving some downgrader program my steam login info, you guys gotta be smoking crack if you think its ok to ask people for their login info as a requirement to play fallout London. Don't get me wrong I do want to play Fallout London but there is absolutely no way you are getting my login info to do it. All of you idiots allowing these guys to get your login info deserve your accounts to be compromised.

I already get a dozen or so attacks on my steam account per day with all the right info if I didn't have it so I have to approve the login (two-factor security), my account would already be compromised. and I've never shared my login info.

Why are you so angry? If you don't want to use your steam info, downgrade manually. But so people know, I used this downgrader and have had no problems. I was nervous about it, so I checked connected devices and didn't see anything I didn't expect to see. I still changed my password just to make me feel better.

Do what you want, but there's no need to get on here acting like an entitled baby and suggesting people are stupid for using this downgrader.

Why not. Its a stupid idea.

I was looking forward to having a crack at this but the install process is more convoluted and breaks more things than trying to change a damn wallpaper on a linux machine...

oh the manual install? yeah i just get 'server not responding' on the *first* console operation it wants me to do, so at this stage, im out and wont recommend any of this to anyone, which is a bit of a shame for people who have worked hard on it.

Your gaslighting aside, no one should be giving out any account details for any third party for any reason, *especially* when there are a bunch of 'i gave out my password and got nothing' stupid comments vs 'i gave out my password and it was totally fine and you shouldnt complain' gaslighting comments all over the place.

just no. find a better way to get it going. i mean ffs its bad enough ive now got a 10th damn 'required' game launcher *just for a mod that isnt working properly with the other 'required' launcher for the base game* - what on earth did ya think was going to happen?

You realise thats a bloody good way to lose your entire game catalogue, control over your bank account, and then get yourself VAC banned for knowingly sharing your account yes? Thats only a steam employees' decision on a bad day away for pretty much anyone screwing with this.

      1.  Someone tried to steal my account over the course of two years, but kept safe thanks to 2FA.
      2.  Downgrader is open source, and has no choice but to login to steam to access steam files, just like accessing shared resources across a network, you still need permissions.  It's good to be cautious but knowledge is better, especially since the bigger threats aren't so obvious.
      3. Manual download essentially does the same thing, but there's no script and the user has to follow directions.  Missing a step can ruin the installation, and it seems people have issues when it comes to reading.   https://fallout4london.com/release/
      4. People complaining about the complexity aren't necessarily wrong, but it is effectively replacing fallout 4 and as such a complex mod it's going to take a bit more than simply double-clicking an installer.

It's not THAT complicated - you literally took the time to log in to nexus to write a complaint.  Yet somehow because you had a connection issue when you tried a manual download that was all it took to give up.

The manual downgrade still requires you to be on steam and connect to steam servers to download data (off steam).  Anything that requires the use of the internet is going to be subject to downtime, and guess what, that's the state of all newer gaming now.

Anyone seen or know what to do about this error popup? When running the downgrader, after entering my steam guard code, I get this error that says "Error" then "Traceback (most recent call last)" then it begins showing the error trace, but then halfway down it says "ssl.SSLCertVerificationError: [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed: certificate has expired (_ssl.c:1000)"
