Version 0.2
.ba2 versions updated for version 1.0.0.6
Version 0.1
First upload
This mod Replaces the music in the main menu with "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by Bill Danoff as performed live at Georgetown University GEMA Rocks 2010.
Technical Details
The music file for the main menu is archived inside the file SeventySix - Startup.ba2. Think of this file as a zip archive file, but you will need a a tool provided by Bethesda (Archive2) to open it and edit it. In there, the actual music file is under music\special\mus_maintheme.xwm.
I offer two different options. You can either download the .ba2 version and directly replace the original (but if/when Bethesda update this file you will have to wait for an update of this mod as well) (since version 1.0) that needs to be part of your ArchiveList, or you can download the .xwm and add it manually to the archive (and redo if/when Bethesda update this file) (since version 1.0) loose file and use ShadowShayde's Baka File Tool - (Loose) File Loader.
OPTIONAL
In the optional files you can find the covers by John Denver as well as COPILOT that was commissioned by Bethesda and can be heard in game on the Appalachia radio.
CHANGELOG
0.1: Initial upload 0.2: .ba2 versions updated for version 1.0.0.6 0.3: .ba2 versions updated for version 1.0.1.14 1.0: I will not provide edited SeventySix - Startup.ba2 anymore. From now onward I will just offer an custom .ba2 that you have to add in your ArchiveList and forget about it. No more updates every time Bethesda updates the game. New installation instructions bellow.
INSTALLATION
.ba2 method
Browse to %Game Directory%\DataDeprecated since version 1.0
Create a backup of SeventySix - Startup.ba2Deprecated since version 1.0
Overwrite SeventySix - Startup.ba2 with the modded oneDeprecated since version 1.0
Download and extract the mod to %Game Directory%\Data\.
Create or edit the following file: %UserProfile%\Documents\My Games\Fallout 76\Fallout76Custom.ini:
Make sure you edit the sResourceStartUpArchiveList and not the SResourceArchiveList2 line.
Warning: If you are using Baka File Tool for other mods, you will need to edit the %Game Directory%\Data\BakaFile.ini and append MMM - Country Roads.ba2 at the end, just after BakaFile - Main.ba2. You will have to do this each time you use Baka File Tool, since it rewrites it's .ini file every time. I have contacted ShadowShayde and hopefully a compatible version of Baka File Tool will be released soon.
Replace the modded SeventySix - Startup.ba2 with the backup I told you to create. .ba2 method Delete %Game Directory%\Data\MMM - Country Roads.ba2 and revert the edit to %UserProfile%\Documents\My Games\Fallout 76\Fallout76Custom.ini.
