UPDATED
I rebalanced the mod entirely .... because I just realized after updating my NVIDIA driver to the most recent one, that my screen is now darker than before ( that's why the mod was too dark for everyone, except for me..... ) this version is OK
enjoy, and endorse the mod if you like it
read this -- IMPORTANT--
If you have HDR "off" in "Windows/Display Settings" then it will look best.
If you have HDR "on" in "Windows/ Display Settings" then it will look bad, with WAY too much contrast and also WAY too dark nights........ so I suggest you turn HDR "off" in "Windows/ Display Settings",
OR
if you need HDR "on" in "Windows/ Display Settings", then you should :
1. Turn HDR "off" at least in the game "options, color, brightness" section, and
2. Set Brightness to 50, Contrast to 20 and Gamma to 70.....
But it's way better balanced with HDR "off" in "Windows/ Display Settings" and Brightness 50, Contrast 55 and Gamma 55 or 60.... For brighter image try 50, 60 and 70....
also it seems that
-"Brightness" more than 50 and it will look washed out
-"Brightness" less than 50 and it will be too dark

DESCRIPTION
Not a reshade, but in-game files. It balances general environment lighting to a bit more realistic and plausible values.
Love Far Cry 6 graphics, but it has some weird and aggressive brightness changes when you look around you, also the eye adaptation is "way too fast and heavy", exactly like if you are watching the world through a mobile phone camera, not through human eyes .... so you end up having everywhere you go, and everywhere you look at, the same level of brightness (no matter if inside, outside, in a tunnel, sunny or overcast, day or night...) there is always the same amount of brightness, so....
CHANGES
see the video...
Unfortunately NPC can look a bit bright at night from distance, it's a vanilla setting, not a big deal, but I still don't know how to fix this...
I edited night lighting to "as real as possible" values, so when is full moon outside you can see well , but if you enter the woods for example, it can get quite disorienting without the flashlight (as it would in real life), so I highly suggest you also install the "Flashlight" mod from Libertad mod pack Far Cry Modding - Libertad mod (fcmodding.com) (basically radio on/off command will switch flashlight on/off when not in a vehicle).
I also suggest you activate the mod "Cloud shadows" so clouds will project shadows to the ground if they cover the sun or moon.
INSTALL
Download, extract the mod, then put the "Lighting mod and Real Nights mod.a3" file inside "ModifiedFilesFC6" folder of the FCModInstaller.
Then run mod installer and activate it, as you do for every other Far Cry 6 mod
