In June 2020 Square Enix decided to remove a lot of features from the PC version in order to turn off the online functionalities. This resulted in removing the feature to play as your Avatara from the Comrades part of the game instead of Noctis. For those who enjoy character customization, this was a big loss.
Fortunately Energy™ from the Steam forums modded the Avatara feature into the game again with a simple drag-n-drop of these files into your main FFXV folder. Since they're only as a temporary Google Drive file, I figured I would upload it to Nexusmods for future proofing and preservation.
Installation: Simply drag 'n drop the files into your FFXV install directory and replace existing files.
Usage: When playing the game, go into the menu, select Online in the bottom, and select Avatara. Here you can make new Avataras or edit/use existing ones to replace Noctis.
If you haven't unlocked the Avatara feature yet, go to the guy in the frog-looking costume behind Takka's pit shop and talk to him to enable the feature.
