About this image
Here are some mods I think FF16 really badly needed on PS5. Now, with its release on PC, here's a chance to finally make some changes.
Boss Rush / Replay Mode
(The game has huge spectacles of boss fights and yet apparently no way to replay them)
A Mod That Returns Skies to Previous Appearance (Removes the Ugly)
The sky stays purple for 2/3 of the game. The color isn't even the real problem- it makes shaders of everything in the environment dull and unimpressive. If FF16 is supposed to be a game where the graphical detail is a core part of the experience, then the sky undoes that. The sky was so universally unpopular among players that the devs had to come up with an elaborate plot device in story DLC 2 in order to justify the skies looking normal in the new DLC area.
Replace Clive's Voice Lines When Moving/Fighting. Please.
He already sounded fully grown up in the 2nd part. They made his voice overly deep in the third part to the point it sounds silly, like he's gargling marbles. Even Nolan's Batman sounds more natural, imo.
(Replace 3rd time period with voice from 2nd). Aka 2nd timeskip (3rd time period) voice lines are removed; 1st timeskip (2nd time period) stays.
Increased Combat Complexity
Certainly a tall ask, would require a detailed and dedicated overhaul, but the combat in this is definitely basic and feels repetitive over the course of such a long game.
Perhaps add a few combo-moves that make things feel more dynamic. I also think the way abilities are activated feels a bit cumbersome, but that might be a personal / controller issue.
Really, it'd be best if we could chain the special moves better or get mixed elemental reactions, but I think that's probably asking for way too much unless someone's really enamored with the idea.
Picture is an example of what 2/3 of the game looks like; everywhere looks like that because it's all washed-out. View gets tiring faster than one would like in a game this incredibly long.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
