About this mod

Hold button (default: L1 / CapsLock) to sprint! Now working everywhere in the game!

Changelogs
This mod removes automatic sprinting, and replaces it with a system that lets you assign a hotkey which, when pressed, makes you sprint on demand.

Sprinting is activated EVERYWHERE, even at the Hideaway and during special levels.

Hold the button to sprint. Releasing it will make Clive stop sprinting.

Note that this mod is highly experimental. It is not recommended on a blind playthrough, as some main and sub events might not proceed as expected by the devs. For replaying levels, though, it works great.

If you want a combination of both having this mod on and the safety of playing without it, try the latest version below 2.0.0. More details below.

Always keep in mind that the mod was not tested through the whole game. Visit the Known Issues section for more information on what has been discovered to break so far, or simply for a glimpse on minor inconveniences that might occur when playing using this mod.

Supported input devices are:
-XInput Controllers (default: on)
-Keyboard (via GlobalKeyInterceptor) (default: off)
-DualSense Controller (EXPERIMENTAL!) (default: off)

You can turn on/off each device support from the mod configuration menu, where you can also set the specific keybinds and trigger deadzones.

FOR DUALSENSE USERS:
DualSense support is still experimental! Only enable either DualSense or XInput controller support to avoid issues.
If you're experiencing issues with DualSense support, disable it, enable XInput support and use either SteamInput or another XInput emulator.

KNOWN ISSUES:
-Sometimes sprinting up stairs in non-sprint areas will make Clive stop sprinting and stutter like he has cramps on his lower limbs. If you're looking to play with this mod, I assume you want to really go fast. Thankfully, I have found that spamming jumps like a (un)professional FPS player will preserve your momentum and prevent Clive from stopping and recovering like the normal person he is not.

-In the pre-final level, a couple scripted sequences will make Clive fall into the void. This is not a softlock, as the devs were kind enough to teleport Clive back up when he falls below a certain point. Still worth noting.

PRE 2.0.0 VERSION:

Pressing a specified button (default: R2 / RT / CapsLock) will reduce Clive's sprint start delay to 0, while releasing it will revert it to the previous values.

This effectively allows you to set a "sprint button".

Note that releasing the button won't make Clive stop sprinting. To stop sprinting, release the button AND the LeftStick / WASD.

This version is more stable, but doesn't allow sprinting in every context.
