Fairer AF Bosses - An Add-On for Alternative Fantasy

Requires Memoria Engine and Alternate Fantasy, Moguri-Compatible



If you've played Alternative Fantasy, you may be familiar with the incredible difficulty spike of the final boss from everything that has come before it.  This mod reduces the difficulty of Necron and Ozma to more reasonable levels - they are still significantly more difficult than the vanilla experience, but should be more easily tackle-able in a casual playthrough.

To Install: Simply drop the "FairerAFBosses" directory into your main FFIX directory (<your-steam-library>/steamapps/common/FINAL FANTASY IX/)
Then, edit Memoria.ini in the same directory and add "FairerAFBosses" to your mod list at the bottom of the file.  For example, if you were using Moguri, Alternate Fantasy, and this mod, the end of your file should look like this:

Changes:

Necron
No longer gains additional elemental absorptions as he absorbs orbs.
Re-added weaknesses to Wind and Holy damage from the base game.
Is now neutral to Shadow damage (as in base game, in AF he is immune to it)
Reduced the power of his Curaga spell (255 -> 100, base game value is 85)
Replaced his self buffs (Mighty Guard / Regen) with ones from the base game (Protect / Shell)
Reduced the power of his Holy attack to the same as Flare (150 -> 102, base game both are 85)
Reduced the power of Nanoflare (his new AF bonus attack) (150 -> 95, base game doesnt exist)

Ozma
Completing the Friendly Monsters sidequest makes Ozma weak to Shadow, as it does in the base game (in AF it becomes immune)
Reduced power of Ozma's Holy to it's base game value (190 -> 148)
Reverted it's Curse to the base game version  (Single target instead of multi, slightly higher damage)
Reverted it's Lv3 Death to Lv5 Death (Lvl2 Doom still present.)
It's Berserk spell no longer deals damage (but still hits multiple party members)
Reduced power of Last Breath from 255 to 185

Ability Changes:
Clear Headed now also protects against Berserk
Cheat Fate now also protects against Zombie
