TANTALUS
The goal of this mod is to make the Tantalus guest characters playable and usable in normal playthroughs (which a ton of people have been wishing for, including me!) but not so much that they actively replace the main cast of characters. To add them to your party, use the memoria engine’s ALT+F2 to open the dialog for switching party members.

Installation
- Requires the latest Memoria Engine version
- Drag and drop the zip file to your Memoria mod manager, then activate.

Compatibility
- Made for vanilla and Alternate Fantasy. Not compatible with any other gameplay overhaul such as Trance Seek.
- Shouldn’t have conflicts unless you have other mods that modify Blank, Cinna, and Marcus.
- Known conflict with Beatrix mod. To fix, place PlayableTantalus above BeatrixMod in the mod manager

Bugs to squash, things to improve
- Translation! I admit I largely used Google Translate for everything except some JP ability names. Let me know if there are some odd ones I need to improve.

Credits
- Albeoris and the memoria team for the amazing Memoria Engine
- Tirlititi for Alternate Fantasy and Hades Workshop
- Snouz, DV, faospark, and the rest of the community at Moogles and Mods
- and YOU, for checking this mod out!

Ability Changes
Spoiler:
Show
- Steal-Gil adjusted to net more gil on steal
- Mug damage calculation adjusted to deal decent physical damage (based on Str/Spd/Spr), inspired by Improved Steal Abilities (but the calculation is entirely different)

Character Changes
Spoiler:
Show
I’ve intended to give them some limits and not to excessively expand their roles as thieves. Thus:
- All three of them cannot enter or build up Trance. There will be no plans to give them Trance at the moment.
- Each of them has their own ultimate weapons which can be synthesized at Hades.

Blank
Always in competition with Zidane, both in wooing the ladies and in combat skills, Blank has learned the use of Thief Swords in addition to his finesse with regular swords. He has mastered the art of Swordplay and can use abilities such as Thunder Slash and Quadra Slash. Like Zidane, he can also learn the powerful technique Wind Slash. Although he is noted as the brains of Tantalus, Blank is equally sharp with his blades.

Author’s notes: I’ve decided to make Blank the most physically offense-oriented member of the trio, learning several Sword Art techniques, as well as Zidane’s powerful Wind Slash and self-buff with Warm Up. He innately has Heavy Strike to deal damage with recoil, and Daze which slows enemies, perfect for taking time when you're stealing items from enemies.

*Blank’s Wind Slash (Windfall) cannot trigger AoE attacks like how Zidane does it with thief swords, however, I’ve left that as it is a convenient way to differentiate the two. Blank however was given Point Blank for his own AoE attack.

Marcus
As the most resourceful and level-headed member of Tantalus, Marcus’s incredible Bandit skills enable him to break through enemies’ defenses and disrupt their offenses. He is also a capable leader, always ready to assist his teammates, often rushing to their aid and boosting their fortitude. However, he is no slouch in combat; his strength in wielding daggers and swords is nothing short of formidable.

Author’s Notes: Marcus’ set is inspired by his appearance in Final Fantasy Record Keeper, where he knew various Break abilities to debuff enemies, which goes perfectly well with swords that already teach him all four break abilities. Similarly, in RK, thieves can learn poison spells hence making this even a better reference as Marcus already knows Contaminate in Alternate Fantasy. In the remake of original Final Fantasy, they also gave the name Marcus as an automatic name for the Monk job, hence it’s also quite fitting to further improve Marcus’ new role as support and give him Chakra and Revive. Additionally, Marcus can also learn Regenerate (like Zidane) to top off his support commands.

Cinna
As the machine and SFX expert for the Tantalus Theater Troupe, Cinna’s passion for his hammer is only matched by his delight in using forks to enjoy the famous South Gate Bundt Cake. His Technics with gadgets allow him to detect and scan his targets' treasures and weaknesses. He can also use explosive SFXs to inflict significant damage and conjure a magical version of his hammer to strike his enemies. Cinna is skilled in using item-based abilities, such as emergency first aid and recovery, further demonstrating his versatility and creativity. He does not take kindly to anyone making fun of his friends, especially to his face.

Author’s Notes: I decided to make Cinna the troupe’s support-oriented member, and to make him unique he uses item-consuming abilities. Cinna’s set is inspired by the Technicks command in FFXII, which includes a toolbox of support utilities that fit perfectly for thieves. Finally, there’s no way that Hammer will not be Cinna’s ultimate weapon, thus I’ve given him unique abilities that allow him to deal more damage with Hammer (via attack or Pyro), but he also has access to a powerful endgame hammer that allows him to deal damage to all enemies.

EQUIPMENT
Cinna can now equip forks up to Bistro Fork.
Hammer's attack potential is unlocked by equipping the ability Cinna's Hammer.
His ultimate weapon, however, is Gaia Hammer, the legendary hammer.
Lastly, he can also equip several consumable items as add-ons to learn unique abilities.

INNATE
Magic Hammer - Same as the Blu Mag ability.
Pyro - Completely new skill from the SFX Pyro. Deals ranged physical damage to one target. Pyro has special interactions with Hammer and deals bigger damage based on Str/Lvl

ACTIVE
Fiery Hammer - Deals magical damage (based on strength) to all enemies, has a chance to inflict Heat. Learned from Gaia Hammer.
Flee
Detect
Scan

Revive
First Aid - Quickly uses Potion on one party member. Has priority over the other commands. Can be learned from Hi-Potion as an add-on
Remedy Spray - Uses Remedy on all party members. Can be learned from the item itself as an add-on.
Power Nap - Uses Tent on all party members. Can be learned from the item itself as an add-on.
Revitalize - Uses Phoenix Down on all party members. Can be learned from the item itself as an add-on.

Item Changes
Spoiler:
Show
- Hi-Potion, Remedy, Tent, and Phoenix Down are now an exclusive add-ons for Cinna
- Hammer now teaches Cinna’s Hammer and Detect
- Fork now teaches Antibody
- Needle Fork now teaches Jelly
- Silver Fork now teaches Millionaire
- Bistro Fork now teaches Loudmouth
- Leather Shirt now teaches Mug, steal away!
- New weapon: Muramasa - Synthesized at Hades using Masamune and Blood Sword
- New weapon: Vanguard - Synthesized at Hades using Defender and Gauntlets
- New weapon: Gaia Hammer - Synthesized at Hades using Hammer and Rosetta Ring

These are also considered as buffs for Quina, especially the easier learning of Millionaire, which I believe isn’t that too much.

Non-Gameplay Changes
Spoiler:
Show
- Changed help text for Warm Up to no longer mention Zidane, as Blank also has it now
- Changed help text for Strong Hit to no longer mention Marcus, as Blank also has it now
- Renamed Strong Hit to Heavy Strike - Reference to existing abilities in FFXI, Airborne Brigade, and Brave Exvius
- Renamed Windfall to Wind Slash - Reference to the recurring ability Kamaitachi/Wind Sickle

Enjoy!
