This change is now live for all users. You can view the new preferences section here.
As part of our ongoing work to update the Nexus Mods website and services, we will be making some changes to separate the “site preferences” and “content” pages that can be found under “My Nexus Account”. This is the first step in our efforts to consolidate the various places around the website where you can change different account preferences.
This post will give you an overview of what will be changing, why we are making these changes and when you can expect this update to be rolled out.
Once you’ve read through it, please feel free to leave your feedback, thoughts or suggestions. Any off-topic posts may be removed or moderated; if you’d like to make any other unrelated suggestions or feedback please use our feedback board.
What are we doing?
We’re separating several of the tabs that currently appear under the "My Nexus Account" area of the site.
The following pages are going to be moved to a new ‘Settings’ area and will no longer appear under ‘My Nexus Account’:
Here is a capture of the new ‘Settings’ area in development. While work is still being done on this, it gives you a good idea of how the new Settings area will look:
The following pages are going to remain in the ‘My Nexus Account’ area, although we're renaming this to ‘My Content’:

Why are we doing this?
The main reason for separating and moving these pages is to resolve technical debt. All of the existing pages are built in a framework that is no longer supported and is difficult to work with, so we need to move them into a more modern one that has better support for our developers.
This is part of the wider work we are undertaking to update the site. We can’t move everything at once, there are a lot of pages on Nexus Mods, so for now we’re focusing on the ‘site preferences’ and leaving the ‘content’ pages where they are (to be tackled later).
The other reason for doing this is to start bringing all of the ‘settings’ pages together under one unified navigation. Right now we have three separate areas on Nexus Mods for site preferences, account settings and profile settings. We want to bring all of these together, making them easier to find and use. As a user, these changes should mean a more intuitive design making it easier to find and make changes to these settings.
When are we doing it?
Work is being done on this now and we plan on finishing it by the end of January 2024. The changes will then be put live on the site shortly afterwards.

We won't be keeping the old UI, for the reasoning set out in the article:
