The Volkswagen W10 engine was a 10-cylinder engine developed as an experimental prototype in the 1990s. It combined two V5 engines (five cylinders in a V configuration), creating a "W" shape, with the aim of exploring new design and performance possibilities. Key Features: Specs:

Purpose: The engine was designed for high-performance and luxury cars, but it was never produced at a large scale.
Applications:
The engine was used in concept cars from Volkswagen, such as the Volkswagen W12 Syncro, which later inspired the development of the W12 engine, used in cars like the Volkswagen Phaeton and the Bugatti Veyron.
The W10 was never a production engine but served as an important experiment for Volkswagen’s future innovations in high-performance engine design.
