About this mod

This mod adds modularity to the 3rd Echelon Gear from the Ghost store and some of the options also allows it to look identical to the variant you see Prime Sam Fisher & Briggs icon use.

Modular 3rd Echelon Gear from Splinter Cell Blacklist
"Told you this would get messy."

This mod slightly fixes the Splinter Cell Blacklist 3rd Echelon Gear from the Ghost store and make it look more accurate to how it should look when comparing it to the Prime Sam Fisher & Briggs icon characters.

The mod is adding back several details & accessories missing from the gear originally, but would still be available when using the icon characters.

Fire771 did previously make a wonderful mod that also adds the elbow pads, among other Echelon accessories to other gears.
But to use the Echelon top with the pads you had to replace Arcturus Ghost ghillie jacket with the top. Which is great for those who haven't bought the 3rd Echelon gear from the Ghost store.

But I wanted to create a mod that instead only modifies the existing gear from the Ghost store to have the missing accessories added back.
Here are the main features of the mod.

  • Elbow pads on the arms
  • The slingshot belt around the chest
  • The little green backlight on the back of the neck
  • Correct body proportions in terms of the collar on the top and the lower waist looking a little wider

The top is the one that is mainly changed, but there is an miscellaneous file that also modifies the pants to have the same body proportions as the icon models.

I've split the mod into 6 different variations of the 3rd Echelon top, with a Miscellaneous Files Section containing the 3rd Echelon pants with updated proportions as well.
The reason for all these variations is by request and because some of them will have noticeable clipping issues when in use with different vests and face masks, or even with the battle belt and pants if using the variation with the updated proportions.

Choose only 1 of the 6 variations to install depending on how you want the suit to look like, and how little or how much clipping you're willing to deal with.
The files section will detail which file contains which changes and recommend which variation of the top you should combine the updated Echelon pants with.

Many of these changes apply to both male & female build of Nomad, with the exception of the update body proportions.
So the female build should have the elbow pads, slingshot and backlight, but not the proportions.

The female build with the variants that update the body proportions will just default to loading up the default female proportions, but with all the other accessories.

The reason why the clipping happens with the updated body proportions is because it wasn't designed for the different vests, face masks and the battle belt that Nomad has equipped. Which is why the default proportions on the 3rd Echelon top and pants are much thinner, and the collar wider on Nomad than on Sam & Briggs.

Update 08.09.2024:
New variants are uploaded by request where the green glowing wrist watch is removed.
Same drill as before, choose only 1 of the different variations of the Echelon top to install.

The files section will as usual detail which accessories are added or removed, and suggest which variant should be paired with the updated Echelon pants.
The Echelon pants are in the Miscellaneous Files section while the alternate variants without the wrist watch are in Optional Files.

Update 14.09.2024:
The mod is now at version 2.0, with the entire name being changed to "Modular 3rd Echelon Gear".
What started as a relatively simple .buildtable mod bringing people some options to make the gear look identical, now has extra modularity by request.

I was reluctant to bring out these next 3 variants, but here they are.
These new 3 variants are without the elbow pads and wrist watch.
Initially making one of them feel redundant as the first of the 3 new variants are just the default 3rd Echelon top, but without the green wrist watch.

No more requests, I can't pump half a dozen more variants with this or that removed.
This has already gone a little against what I initially set out to do.

Anyone is free to edit this mod further and release them on Nexus Mods, or other sites, no one needs to credit me either.
I did set up this particular mod for this site, but I didn't exactly create anything from scratch.
