This Mod allows you to replace the Guitar Hero World Tour drum kit with Ritsu Tainaka's drum kit! (Yes, this is possible) I know the installation process for this mod seems odd (which it is) but it works. You have to do it this way because the drum kit model has too many faces for the other method and it lost WAY too much quality when I decimated it. REQUIREMENTS
- Blender
- GHTools - Guitar Hero Toolkit add-on for Blender
NOTICE
-The following files will be replaced for this mod to work:
- DATA\MODELS\WTDE\DRUMS\drums_ghwt_single.skin.xen
- DATA\MODELS\WTDE\DRUMS\drums_ghwt_single.tex.xen
- Backups for these files will be included with the mod.
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS (also included as Install.txt in mod download)
- Locate the Drum_Kit folder (or Drum_Kit_Mocap folder if you're planning to play a Metallica Mocap song, i.e. Enter Sandman or Frantic) and click on it
- Located in the folder you downloaded for this mod
- Import the Ritsu_Drums.skin.xen file into Blender
- Go into DATA\MODS and choose a character you want to play the custom drums and make a copy of the chosen character's mod folder.
- This will be the character you set PreferredDrummer to in GHWTDE.ini
- Import the chosen character's mesh file into Blender.
- Located in the character mod folder you just copied in the previous step
- DO NOT move, scale, modify the drum model or character model in any way. They are already scaled and positioned correctly.
- Select all drum objects and the character object and export the selected objects as Neversoft Mesh (*.skin/*.scn) and give it the same name as the character mesh you imported.
- Make sure the export destination is the same location as the character mesh you imported in the previous step.
- The files you export in this step will replace the original character mesh
- Locate the Drumsticks folder
- Located in the folder you downloaded for this mod
- Copy the two files in the folder
- Navigate to DATA\MODELS\WTDE\DRUMS
- Paste the two files you copied here and when prompted click Replace the files in the destination
- This will replace the WT drum kit with drumsticks so the WT drums don't load on top of the custom drums
- Lastly open GHWTDE.ini and set PreferredDrummer to the character mod you copied in the third step.
REVERT TO WT DRUM KIT
- Locate the Backup folder
- Located in the folder you downloaded for this mod
- Copy the two files in the folder.
- Navigate to DATA\MODELS\WTDE\DRUMS
- Paste the two files you copied here and when prompted click Replace the files in the destination
- Lastly open GHWTDE.ini and set PreferredDrummer to any character that doesn't have the custom drum set.
