Mod Showcase:
Shoutout to LateNightGaming for playing the mod! Thanks for giving it a memorable moment, I loved showing this one.
Thank you KYOT for showcasing my mod your channel is such a great vibe!
How do I install the mod?
Navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection\halo4\sound\pc". Paste here. Make sure you backup the original file or you will have to redownload the game! I also recommend pinning the MCC directory to your quick access so you can navigate quickly to install/uninstall the mod.

Can I play this mod in matchmaking?
Unfortunately, as of now anti-cheat will flag .pck files if you try to play them online. Theater mode is still available for multiplayer clips if you want to watch them with the sound mod.
What is available?
Campaign & Spartan Ops with Co-Op, custom games with party (no server browser)
MCC No Sound Troubleshooting Guide
Here are some solutions I've found.
#Solution 1
- Right click your volume button in your taskbar and click "open sound settings".
- Scroll down until you see "Advanced Sound Options" and click "App volume and device preferences".
- Find the MCC option and crank up the volume to 100, bear in mind that the game should be running to see this option.
- Your issue is hopefully fixed!
#Solution 2
Start MCC, Press windows button and g at the same time to open the game bar/xbox menu, there should be volume/audio controls somewhere there. Just scroll down to mcc and enable audio!
#Solution 3
- open "sound settings" in windows. Use window search bar.
- Scroll down to Advanced Sound Options" and open
- Scroll down to "App Volume" Halo Master Chief collection Will NOT be listed.
-Keep sound setting open while you start Halo.
- When Halo is in the menu screen, use Alt+Tab to switch back to the sound settings.
- "Halo Master Chief Collection" should now be listed under the "App Volume"
- Change output/input "default" setting to "Headset"
Sound issue should be fixed.
#Solution 4
Everything was muted once reaching the main menu, including the rest of the computer (no other tabs could output sound to my headphones)
- Start the game
- Right click Sound Icon near clock on bottom right
- In the Sound Settings, click on "Sound Control Panel"
- In Playback Tab, ensure that your headphones (or speakers) is set as "Default Communication Device" and "Default Device" by right clicking on your headphones.
Not sure if it helps but I also ensured the same was done in the "Recording Tab" for my microphone (Default Device and Default Communication Device)

Hope this helps anyone in the future!
I have been working on concepts for such a project for some time. Check out some earlier concepts this mod is inspired from.

Dear fellow Halo players,
I have acquired pretty much everything that I wanted, minus a couple pieces of hardware. I still need to find a bit of time to work on the next update. I'm not making promises on an update just yet but I wanted to bump with a message and that I feel closer to making that time. In truth, thanks to the community, this is a time to rejoice! For the decrypted Halo 5 audio files have been found. This definitely unlocks a bit more potential for the sound. I am not ready to release the tool yet, as I would like to release it complete alongside the mod. I have great enthusiasm still, just a very busy schedule :) Alrighty then, Happy Holidays guys, thank you for the mm games and streamers for the atmosphere during work days, or any days for that matter.

Quick Update on Mod Status
Thank you Halo fam for supporting my work. I know it's been a while (again) since the last update. Truly several things have been happening behind the scenes and I am working to streamline them. They are as follows. 1. Audio production is kind of really expensive, and while I wanted to go absolutely all out, and get channel strips that were used on Dark side of the Moon or pre-amps that were used for MJ, and hardware units to absolutely blow your mind and take you beyond the stratosphere, I realized that I had to settle on some quality bar, because while audio production has also become amazingly affordable, what I wanted out of my setup was just too out of budget. What we have is still amazing, and definitely used on tracks you know and love, so I think I have finally settled on a scope where we will still get a decent homemade stew of Halo audio. I technically designed the tool for easy iteration, so in the future if we ever acquire better stuff we can come back and revise it. But truth is, time is a steady march, there are other Halo projects I would like to work on, and a fun playable mod is definitely within reach now that the scope has been defined. 2. Speaking of the tool, I hope to release it sometime this year. I hope to clean it up for a public release and H2A support, but if I don't have time to do that I will just endure the roasting of the codebase and maybe we can chat a bit in Discord in how to collaborate together on it. I don't think it's that bad, but hopefully I would like to fix it up a bit more to work flawlessly on any machine it's thrown on. 3. Busy in general, working on things demanding my attention. I am hoping that in the future you will be able to benefit too from the tool(s) I've built to streamline easy audio production for H4/H2A. Thanks for reading. Sorry for the delay! Let's continue marching on and doing our best.
1.0.8.4 Placeholder Test 12/13/2023
I hope you are all having a very cozy December. Here is the placeholder test for the next sound design.
1.0.8.3 Release 11/27/2023
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Sorry for such a delay, technical difficulties. I've had some luck acquiring some sought after equipment for this project over the past month or so. Still not quite the dream setup, but much closer to it. For the next update(s) I will try to go for designs heard in gameplay more often. I will work on some better time management for this project, many nuances that can be challenging, but we are out of the box and rendering in analog.
What's new in Halo 4 Rescored 1.0.8.3
----------------------------------------------------------
• Revised energy_sword loop(s)
• Sentinel engine design
• Sentinel beam weapon design
Also, if you came here to install the standalone to use with other Halo 4 mods, you came to the right place! Here is KYOT doing just that with Rescored and Mythic Overhaul.
Update 8/12/2023
Thank you KYOT for showcasing my mod! I truly appreciate the in-depth look and also great showcase of the warthog :)
Sneak peek 3
Hello guys thank you for patiently waiting, I apologize once again for the delay in the next update. I am dealing with some unforeseen circumstances again and working to resolve them so we can get back to what matters. I would prefer to drop an update rather than tease but here's another video for a placeholder test of what I've been working on in the meantime. Sentinels :)
1.0.8.2 Release 6/5/2023

Added base design for Energy Sword:
- Added design for sword_loop
- Added design for sword character impacts

- Added design for sword_slash (1st + 3rd)

Update 4/20/2023
Sneak peek 2
Hard at work on the sword design. Here is a clip from a placeholder session to map out the next iteration. The tool is in a mostly done state, about 85% done. I've pivoted recently to the design as it could be a while before the tool actually sees 100%. Nevertheless, enough portions have been completed to help assist in the rapid iteration we are seeking.
Update 2/26/2023
Sneak peek from behind the scenes
Thank you for your patience while more work is being done to bring the next version out. Here is a small peek on what is being worked on.

Working very hard to deliver a great and compelling audio mod for all of you.

Enjoying the Halo Infinite Winter Update: Reflections on a Busy Year and Plans for the Future
I know some of you have been wondering why there hasn't been an update this month and in short I've been really busy. I wish that working on this mod was my full-time job, but unfortunately that's not the case. That being said, I'm really proud of what we've accomplished this year. Despite some technical challenges, we've made a lot of progress on the tools to increase iteration speed and the last two updates have transitioned smoothly into the new workflow. There's still more work to be done, but I'm confident that we're heading in the right direction.
I hope you all have a great holiday season, and that 2023 is a bright year for Halo modding and for Halo Infinite. We could all use a little rest and relaxation these Halo-days.
Thanks again for your support!

Happy Halo 4 Anniversary!! While this update doesn't do the game justice, it's all the progress I made so far.

I hope you have fun driving the warthog for hours like I did! Reclaimer is a level that tends to show off the Warthog and marines with snipers /BR's, while the spartan ops missions above have a pretty good difficulty that can be scaled up, I like the play with Grunt B-Day party and Cowbell, with occasionally thunderstorm or other skulls on. Composer shows off the shotgun pretty nicely although you can find plenty of them in "Nothing Can Go Wrong". It's a pretty great Promethean encounter. If you want some Covenant/Promethean encounters I recommend Core or Seize the Power for a BTB Warthog experience. Hacksaw is also a pretty decent all Covenant close quarters fight. It also happens to include a lot of what has been swapped/revised so far. Also, I recommend ammo pack for one of your loadouts. It's really generous, especially for Spartan Ops.
What are your current modding limitations?
Wwise effects. They are a dimension of sound design in this game that I haven't found a way to modify. For example, the dexterity reload ability will change how the sound is processed, flangers on the plasma pistol overcharge or effects when you enter/exit a regen field, and there is not a whole lot of creative control over it at this time. Volume and other mixing parameters are also a challenge to access. Although I'm able to accept this and move on to filling out more sound ideas.
No labels for filenames. Everything has to be figured out by listening to the sample, injecting silence, and then doing trial-and-error of testing in game to see if that was the proper sound or not. Every sample comes with its own painful challenge because this game has a new layered weapon design amongst other things that weren't present in the previous Halo games, so I'm learning more about the game as I'm going. *This challenge has been partially overcome as I know the general soundbanks and what they contain now. **
**This has been partially resolved, the game has been neatly sorted by their soundbanks in my project folder.
Shared sounds and pointers to the same sound. Basically, things like the explosion effect of the Phantom and the Wraith are shared, whereas I would like them to be separate damage effects, but they were chosen to point to the same sound bank. I think this could be potentially fixed with a map patch but the goal is to have a self-contained file.
Soundtrack. It's really tough to swap without official mod tools, and I'm not really ready to touch the soundtrack.
