mccLaunch is a tool for loading modifications of all kinds into Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Using this tool, you can safely manage and launch Halo: MCC with the mods of your choice, managed
automatically by mccLaunch.

Usage:

mccLaunch is a tool for loading modifications of all kinds into Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
With this, there is a certain format you must abide to in order to enjoy using modifications on this program.

Mod Directory:
You will need to choose an empty folder to contain your mods. Individual mods are placed in seperate folders.

Example:

Inside a Mod Folder

Inside one of your mod folders, files specific to that mod are placed in there. But how does mccLaunch know what to do with these files?
Enter modType.txt. Within this file is a description of the mod's type, allowing mccLaunch to act accordingly.

  • The contents of modType.txt tell mccLaunch what to do. As you can see here, it is a pakMod...
  • ...and by using that file mccLaunch knows what to do with ForgeEnabled_p.pak.
  • This is an optional extra, for mod publishers - index.html! Using this file you can provide a HTML read-me that will appear right in mccLaunch.
ModType.txt: Usage Really, modType.txt isn't complicated at all. This handy chart tells you how exactly to use it:

  • fileReplacement: This mod type is special. Any files in this mod directory (apart from modType.txt and index.html) will be mirrored recursively onto your Halo: MCC directory!
  • pakMod: Using this mod type, any .pak files in the mod directory will be supplied to Halo MCC's UE4 interface.
  • mapMod: With this mod type, any .map files in the mod directory will be supplied the game you specified. This one is special - you need to specify which game's maps you are replacing before the text mapMod. Example: If I was using a custom map for Halo: Reach, my ModType.txt file would contain Reach mapMod.
