A tag pack for the Halo 3 Editing Kit containing Halo 2 (Anniversary and Classic) Covenant biped and AI character tags. Elites use Halo 3 animations. All other covenant use original Halo 2 animations and damage/health values.

This should also work in the ODST editing kit too.

  • All ranks included
  • Classic and Anniversary for almost all species (Prophets excluded for now)
  • Halo 2 Anniversary Elites playable in multiplayer
  • Emblems and first person body for Halo 2 Anniversary Elites
  • All AI character files included
  • Elites and Brutes have Halo 3 markers, including flood muffins and visible holstered weapons

In progress:
  • Anniversary Elite FP arms
  • Classic and Anniversary Tartarus
  • Anniversary Halfjaw
  • Original dialogue

There's some issues with animations, sometimes Brutes just stand still when they should berserk. I've yet to successfully get these AI to deploy out of a phantom. Shaders for Anniversary aren't very accurate.

This is still a work in progress and will be updated based on feedback. The goal is to have both Classic and Anniversary look and behave as close to the originals as I can, while also still having updated functionality to work in most Halo 3 settings.

  • Extract the downloaded .zip
  • Move the "tags" folder to your H3EK directory
  • The tags will be found under "tags\h2\objects\characters"
  • Anniversary tags are in each character folder under "h2a_character"
  • For example "tags\h2\objects\characters\elites\h2a_elite"

To use the multiplayer elite tags:

  • Open up "globals.globals" in Guerilla (tags\globals\globals.globals)
  • Navigate to "Player Representation"
  • Select "elite_multiplayer" from the dropdown
  • Add the "mp_elite.biped" or "h2a_mp_elite.biped" to "third person unit"
  • Add "fp_arms.render_model" found in "h2\objects\characters\elites\fp_arms" to "first person hands"
  • Add "fp_body.render_model" found in "h2\objects\characters\elites\fp_body" to "first person body"
