About this mod

This fixes the Elite's Death, Berserk, Melee, and many other animations while providing Equipment, Troophog and Scorpion passenger support. Also includes the cut Halo 2 animations not covered in 3 which contain vital hardping(stagger) posing, hoist, rifle melee, and for those who wish to add them: All H2 vehicle animations for the ai and player.

Pulling animations from the Halo 2 elite/dervish graphs, h3 dervish graph and phantom passenger animations from the ODST elite graph. Also them sick ass H2 Sword Readys" 

If you have a Halo 3 or ODST mod with Elites and aren't using this resource as a base...what are you doing with your life and to your mod users?

PSA:

I am a Sangheili preferred species player that has been playing Halo since I was 4 and I enjoy nothing more than seeing Halo Elites act as competent allies and enemies in every game. Unfortunately Halo 3 Elites the fourth most based Elites have been slandered by the community for having bad ai...and ngl this is pretty objectively true, seeing how shit they are in 3 has always annoyed me for almost 2 decades now. 

But what players don't realize is that 1. Halo 2 Elites have bad ai too its just masked by insane ai globals with Halo 3 Elite's copying almost every percentage and checkbox they have identically to H2 Elites but without global aimbot and 2. While Bungie did in fact add many animations to H3 Elites that benefit the player and ai, they removed many vital ones and broke existing ones at the same time. This is why Elites use a player animation for carbines that doesn't even do damage. It is why they instantly ragdoll when killed, and why they're the only elites in the franchise that don't play their berserk animation or have stagger animations so they eat rockets and a sword to the face with no reaction! 

Which is a damn shame cause allied Elites are based and Halo 3 Elites look pretty good if not 2 good. Their ai modded can actually be made to be pretty damn good too, far above vanilla h2 and 3 elite ai. So I spent probably a hundred hours at this point, far longer than Bungie ever did looking at H3 Elites and using my knowledge of the other game's Elites to fix all their existing broken animations and readded the cut animations from 2(they share skeletons and already reuse 90% of the H2 Elite's animations) plus took the new created phantom animations created by 343 indentured modders for ODST Elites( thank you) so they can function properly in any scenario as proper Halo ai.


Download Instructions: 
1.Extract the file to the tags<objects<characters folder in 3 or ODST
2.Replace the Elite jmad(animation graph) in the elite, dervish ai and if you wish for the player, dervish/elite_sp/mp_elite  model tags with the elite_h3_byz jmad.
3.Now just compile a selected scenario and or go into tag test to see the vastly improved Elites on your map!”

Notes: 

1. elite_h3_byz jmad is the vanilla ODST Elite animations. It by default pulls from the dervish_lite_byz (multiplayer animations) and the elite_h2_lite_byz (Halo 2 animations) graphs.

2.Hardpings work on compile but not in the tools

3.The H2 needler single wield reload and magnum single/Dual reloads/grip were included incase someone wanted a slower needler reload or faster pistol reloads but were slotted in as am for auto mag and reload_2 as a secondary ammo/barrel reload so they won't be active on default unless you add weapons with that criteria or slot them over the default h3 animations.

Same goes for the h2 scorpion boarding melee and for the h2 wraith boarding animations which were made for the h2 wraith's different hatch location as they have h3 equivalents made for the player. I ported them to begin with cause their board melee frame times were far more balanced for ai than H3s so I do recommend slotting in the scorpions board melee.

4. The Halo 2 flag animations are used as serviceable Pike Animations and can be activated by swapping them in for the flag or adding a weapon labeled in it's tag as pike weapon class and pi weapon type.

5. Fully restoring the berserk animations does mean they will now be vulnerable while berserking. It's a hardcoded change in 3 I have spent hours trying to get around but cant that Bungie placed to probably stop the no warning mid animation instant kill Elite Ultras did while berserking in H2. If you don't want any animation and just want them to quickly draw a sword, go into my elite_h3_byz graph down to Modes>combat>weapon class>weapon type>overlays and remove the string go_berserk from their weapon types so that they wont play an animation when drawing a melee weapon.
