About this mod
I love halo 4 reflow, it makes the game super fun to play and tones back a lot of overbearing effects that don't hold up well. While the visual adjustments are appreciated, it can leave the game looking a little dull in my opinion. This preset isn't going to bring the effects back, but instead provide a very dynamic, colorful and rich image.

I will also be adding screenshots and be making small adjustments overtime, so what I post won't be the final version unless I feel satisfied with it.
If you don't have the mod installed you can get it with this link: https://www.nexusmods.com/halothemasterchiefcollection/mods/852 or find it on the steam workshop.
Some screenshots will have Depth of field and a border effect for the sake of showing off, but these effects will NOT be in the actual preset.
My specs:
RTX 3060 Laptop GPU
I7-12700 2.3 GZ
16G of RAM
6G of VRAM
Play tested at 1440p.
Screenshots taken with steam capture.
Effects used:
1.HSL SHIFT: To make the colors more vibrant (Small performance hit)
2.HDR: To have the difference between the light and dark more pronounced (Small performance hit)
3.MagicBloom: To broadly make the light more intense and colorful (Moderate performance hit)
4.prod80_02_Bloom: To enhance highlights of the image while not intruding of the broad light* (Moderate performance hit)
*Can accidently happen sometimes but when it does its mostly in outdoor areas
5.HDRsaturation: To give a global vibrance boost
6.GloomAO: Halo 4 has a lot of light leak (Areas not being properly shaded in the context of its environment) so this helps out a LOT and helps ground a lot of objects. But at a couple hiccups:
A. It costs a LOT, by far the most expensive effect on this list and gets more expensive the higher the resolution, only enable if you have a beefy PC.
B. In areas with fog the AO can clip through it and look pretty fake, so just keep that in mind.
Even with these if you can spare the horsepower, its really worth it.
7.Lumasharpen: To make the image a tiny bit sharper and clear (small performance hit)
8.Chromatic Aberration(Prism.fx) To make the eyes more focused on the center and because I think it looks cool (Small performance hit)
9. CShadeDLAA: To clean up a lot of aliasing in the image. Unfortunately due to Halo 4's art direction aliasing will be there not matter what, but these do some serious work (Significant performance hit)
I will also be including a performance version that excludes GloomAO, prod80bloom, and CShadeDLAA for those that want a better image but also like framerates above 60. I will do screenshots for the performance version after the main version.
If you don't know how to use Reshade, to install:
1. download my present (Halo 4 Next-gen reshade.ini) and copy it into ":\Steam\steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection\MCC\Binaries\Win64"
2. download Reshade program (https://reshade.me/)
3. start install and when asked select HALO: The Master Chief Collection (or manually search for MMC-WIN64-Shipping.exe in your Halo folder)
4. when asked: select DirectX 10/11/12.
5. on next step you have to locate "HALO MMC reshade.ini" file, that you copied into Halo Win64 folder.
6. when asked which effect packages you need to install, go to the top right corner of the whole box, select the uncheck all button, the select it again to press the check all button to make sure your not missing any effects
7. When asked which "SweetFX and Legacy effects" files you wish to install, you can have them all selected
8. That's it. Run HALO and when in game press HOME button, then "continue", again "continue" and "finish". Effects are loaded and you can press HOME button again to close the screen.
9. In settings you can also set your custom key to toggle effects ON/OFF (effect toggle key). You can that anytime turf off effects with press of a single button.
And finally, I'm sorry that a lot of these screenshots have the HUD in the as Halo 4s theater is kinda hard to work with as it crashes pretty often for me, but it got what I could.
Aaaaand that's everything! I thank you for going through my page, if you have any feedback and recommendations please say them in posts and once again I hope this preset makes your halo 4 much prettier!
