|| History's finest ||

I've been watching a lot of 'For Honor' clips and decided, yeah, that'll probably look cool. So I up and decided to kitbash some Helldiver armour and see if I could make armour out of armour.

So in the style of the DP-40's black and gold I'm proud to unveil History's Finest, a kitbash project of warrior and knight themed armours, current plans entail the French Templars, Nordic Valkyries, and Greek Hoplites

The mod also comes in girl flavour because I know someone's probably gonna ask and there's nothing better than a lady clad in armor. May look a bit wonky, I'm still getting the hang of painting custom textures.

This IS a solo project so the time between new additions is dependent on me and my schedule so thanks for sticking around.

Please let me know of any major clipping errors, asset sharing, or if you want to give some feedback and suggestions

"Ah yes, the HF-42 assault armor, codenamed; "Bushi". I've visited the museums in Sector 2 and the armor replicas of Super Earths ancient civilizations were the most prominent, couldn't take my eyes off 'em! My creative gears started spinning. The 'Bushi' or 'Samurai', as they were also known, were warriors of tradition, swordsmanship, and most of all, Democracy. Their tales of bravery inspired this particular armor. Oh! and one more thing, I designed some extra helmets if you're looking for some variety. Wear 'em with honor, Helldiver."

- Lance Smith, 'History's Finest' Curator

HF-61 "Templar"

Contains 'Default' and 'Trimmed'* variants

"The Templars were a covenant of noble soldiers, bastions of the very fabric of their way of life. They were unflinching wards of those whom they protected and on those they deemed unfaithful they enacted glorious retribution. Helldiver, with that armor comes that very same duty. Your orders are simple: Purge the heretical and raze those undemocratic heathen strongholds to ash."

- Officer Alberich [REDACTED], Ministry of Truth: [REDACTED] Division

HF-39 "Valkyrie"

"Oh wow! you really want me to give a description for the Helldivers' new armor? Huh? You're already recording? Sorry, sorry! *ahem* Prosperity City's Mythological section archives detail a regiment of women called 'Valkyries' who guided warriors who fell in battle to the afterlife. These angelic figures are also noble warriors in their own right and personify battle, glory, victory, and Democracy!......was that good? Yes? Great! Um...you're gonna cut that bit out rig-"

- Allison Bookhardt, Prosperity City Archivist: Mythology and Legends Section

"Dad went on for hours about his museum trips to 'gEt InSpIrAtIoN fOr mY nEw pRoJeCt'. Said something about the metals in these weapons needed to be folded a thousand times over or some other rubbish. Look, I've been at this long enough to know how Super Earths weapons should be made and these swords are no different then boring out rifle barrels. I may not have 'years of experience in forging swords' ~buuut I'm confident enough to say you'll be killin' heaps more than any standard issue gun"

Templar's Armory
HF(A)-17 Longsword  (CQC-30 + Combat Hatchet)
HF(A)-15 Morningstar
 (CQC-30 + Combat Hatchet)
HF(A)-189 Halberd (CQC-19)
HF(D)-12 Kite (SH-20)

"Now this project brought back memories. My nan fought in the First Galactic War with one of these, you know? Her mates called her crazy, I mean, she brought a sword to a high caliber gunfight for [REDACTED] sake. They weren't laughing when she came back with a truck full of squid heads, highest kill count in her platoon. Ah, I miss her. Dead? pfft- Not that old bag, she's over 100 and pushing strong. I think even father time himself can't kill her. She retired after with enough medals to be bumped up a couple tax brackets. Living it up on one of Super Earths beaches, probably"

Valkyrie's Armory
HF(A)-18 Ulfberht
 (CQC-30 + Combat Hatchet)
HF(A)-22 Skeggøx  (CQC-30 + Combat Hatchet)
HF(A)-65 Geirr (CQC-19)
HF(D)-80 Rond (SH-20)

"I have a close friend who majored in mythological studies back in college. I reached out to her after I was asked to make some gear themed around the 'Valkyries'. You would not believe me when I say she literally jumped to the ceiling when I told her. Gave me a bunch of books 'n scriptures for reference material, too. Never saw her so happy before, it was heartwarmingly alarming since she's always been a 'quiet bookworm' type since we were kids. Anyway, I hope these weapons give you that same amount of joy."

Installation:

I highly recommend using the Mod Manager as it makes the modding process a breeze

Manual: Extract the 'patch' contents and drag them into your Helldivers 2 Data folder, if any mods are already installed please change the 'patch_0' in sequence accordingly (i.e. patch_0 , patch_1, patch_2 etc.), verify the files via Steam, then run the game to see if the mod installed correctly.

Mod Manager: Open up Mod Manager, select ADD, locate the zip file to add it, select DEPLOY, then RUN the game to see if the mod installed correctly.

NOTE: If you are doing it manually you can delete the .png.txt and .json files as they are only meant for the Mod Manager
