About this mod
Tried Master mode sometimes, but felt that it is too restrictive, or removes way too many items on the map? Makes some unnecessary restrictions? This mod is for you! Detailed description below
Insipired by "Expert Difficulty" by Daften23. That mod is long abandoned and outdated, but it is what inspired me to do my own approach to the iss
- Requirements
- Permissions and credits
And sometimes it does it's job well, adding some difficulty to the mission. But honestly, in my opinion, that approach also adds unnecessary and sometimes borderline annoying restrictions. Sure, that NPCs no longer drinks, but it doesn't really makes subduing or killing him more difficult, there are other, even easier ways than poisoning. If you think: "I don't want you game to limit my possible approaches! I want the game to feel alive, interesting, Sandboxy!" then we share the same opinion on the subject. I took it on myself, went through ALL changes master mode does to the map, and made my own variant, throwing away unnecessary changes, and leaving interesting ones. Detailed patchnotes will be in the Articles section, for every map
Short Q/A:
Q: Does it change all maps?
A: Hitman 1 maps are the ones that have the most changes on Master. Hitman 2 has less, some maps having very few of them. H3, as I know, only adds cameras and enforcers, and thus will not be affected by my mod
Q:Anything you didn't touch at all?
A: New cameras and enforcers are untouched completely
Q: Sgail and New York seems to be the same as without mod?
A: Yep, I will update them later, give me a month or so
Q: I don't want to read those pesky boring patchnotes, can you explain in few words?
A: Sure - Nearly all removed items and tools on the map are brought back, if Master makes changes to some routines, I usually chose more interesting ones, or brought back those routines that were completely removed. Same applies to map changes, like doors being locked e.t.c. Some items are kept removed, if they make some sections of the mission way too easy
Q: Is it basically "Expert Difficulty" mod, but updated?
A: Kinda? It inspired me, that's for sure. But that mod by itself just removed all "override deletes", mostly bringing back removed items from the map. No routines were touched, plus there are some conflicts like duplicates, clone NPCs, and other nitpicks. And this mod doesn't even work on SMF right now
Q: Was it difficult?
A: Kind of, especially for early maps, they have the most changes, and I just started learning the ropes. Eventually it became easier, plus I got experienced. Still, documenting every entry took some time and effort
Thanks to everyone who decides to use that mod, and don't hesitate to report any bugs, inconsistencies, or maybe some duplicates that I foolishly missed. Maybe suggest your own changes that need to be revised/reverted, I will listen to each one of you!
