About this mod
Opens all locks of all Levels and skips the Alohomora mini-game. An alternative to the Autohomora mod, but it won't break any missions and doesn't require UE4SS. To only open locks at your current level use the "Skip Alohomora" mod instead of this one.

A note regarding the wand-cast and incantation
From version 2.0 onwards this mod will play the wand-cast animation and the incantation voice-over... but don't be surprised if they don't happen every time. When the game was first launched and people discovered that they had to spam revelio to find stuff, it drove us all mad that the main character ("MC") would say "Revelio" every time. So the game devs patched it as follows: 1) If you cast the same spell more than once the MC will only speak the incantation the first time, and 2) If you cast the same spell within 30 seconds the MC will only speak the incantation the first time. To make the MC say the incantation every time you must circumvent this "patch" by using Revelio then basic cast after you use Alohomora.
A note regarding the Stand Up Straight mod
If you use the Stand Up Straight mod, please update to version 2.0 of that mod, otherwise it will interrupt the wand-cast animation.
Introduction
This is the only mod that will open padlocks of any Level (I, II or III) on anything (doors, chests, and cages) regardless of how many demiguise moons you've collected without breaking any quests. It's like having Sirius Black's magical lock-picking penknife in your pocket! 😁 It will skip the Alohomora mini-game and yet still allow you to claim your rewards when presenting demiguises to Gladwin Moon.
To skip the alohomora mini-game but only open locks at your current level, use my Skip Alohomora mod instead of this one.
There were already three other mods (that I know of) to open all locks. But none of them auto-disable at any point so they will ALL break the "Caretaker's Lunar Lament", "Take the Biscuit" and "Fire And Vice" missions:
- Open All Locks (UE4SS): The predecessor to this mod, written by me. It works well but it's an LUA script mod that requires UE4SS.
- Autohomora: This is also an LUA script mod which requires UE4SS to work. Some users have reported issues with this mod, and that over time it causes the game to slow to a crawl. If you're using Autohomora without any problems then feel free to stick with it. But if Autohomora is causing you problems try this mod instead, because it uses very different game functions to achieve the same thing.
- Alohomora Unlocked: This is an SQL mod which alters the PhoenixShipData.sqlite database file inside the game. It doesn't require a modloader (i.e. UE4SS or Blueprint Apparate Modloader) but it does require you to merge it (using Hogwarts Mod Merger) with any other mods that alter the SQL database file. Alohomora Unlocked doesn't skip the Alohomora mini-game but it does allow you to unlock Level I, II and III locks without collecting any demiguise moons. However, it has been reported that if you use this mod Gladwin Moon doesn't give you any rewards when you present him with demiguises.
Installation
You should be able to install the mod automatically using Vortex (then skip to step 4 below), but Vortex can be a bit unreliable with Hogwarts Legacy mods (it doesn't always delete mods properly) so I would recommend installing it manually as follows:
- Download the mod.
- Unzip the contents.
- Move zOpenAllLocks-1011_P.utoc, zOpenAllLocks-1011_P.ucas, and zOpenAllLocks-1011_P.pak to the Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks\~mods\ folder.
- Install Blueprint Apparate Modloader if you haven't already.
- Start Hogwarts Legacy
- Load your most recent save-file.
- Press the F8 key to activate Blueprint Apparate Modloader.
- Type OpenAllLocks in the little window and hit the Enter key on your keyboard.
- The word OpenAllLocks should disappear and reappear lower down in that window with an X next to it. If it doesn't - if it stays on the top line - then either a) you put the .utoc, .ucas and .pak files in the wrong folder, or b) one of your existing mods is already using pakchunk 1011. Use my PakChunk Checker to check that. If you have a pakchunk conflict see the Conflicts section below.
- Press F8 again to close the modloader window.
Usage
Just install the mod. That's it. When you encounter a padlock, press the interact key as normal and the lock should just spring open.
How to Un-Install
Either:
- If you installed it via Vortex: Disable or Uninstall it via Vortex. BUT also CHECK that it's gone from the ~mods folder afterwards.
- Delete zOpenAllLocks-1011_P.utoc, zOpenAllLocks-1011_P.ucas, and zOpenAllLocks-1011_P.pak from the ~mods folder.
This mod uses pakchunk 1011. That's the same pakchunk as my Skip Alohomora mod. I used the same pakchunk deliberately because these two mods are not compatible with each other - you can't have both installed at the same time because they are the same mod, but with different options enabled internally.
You can check if it conflicts with any of your other mods by running my PakChunk Checker batch script after you've installed the mod. If it does conflict, you can use the Chunk ID Conflict Manager to resolve the conflict.
Known Issues
The following are known issues. If you encounter any others please let me know in the POSTS section:
- The wand-cast animation and incantation voice-over don't always play. (See the note regarding the wand-cast and incantation above.)
- If you hit the interact key (usually "F") too soon after casting a spell the player's movement controls get frozen. You can only escape by fast-travelling or reloading a recent savefile.
- The mod will auto-disable when you open the lock during the "Caretaker's Lunar Lament", "Take the Biscuit" and "Fire And Vice" missions. This is deliberate because skipping the minigame for those locks will break the quest.
