- Firewall Setup: Allow traffic through UDP ports 26001 and 26015 to ensure multiplayer functionality.
- Server Configuration: Customize your server's port in "networkconfig.cfg."
- Client Configuration: Set your client's port in the same file for seamless connections.
- Server Browsing: The Gamespy server browser briefly opens a TCP port for server discovery.
- Norton Personal Firewall: For this software, grant "Internet Access" to IGI and place the server in the "Trusted Zone."
- Command Line Usage: Start games or servers via command line, specifying parameters like IP, port, player, and password.
- Map Selection: Select maps when starting a server, and configure map activation in "networkconfig.cfg."
- Running on LAN: Use the LAN update button to locate LAN servers. Public visibility can be controlled via "lo public" in "networkconfig.cfg."
