Sound replacer for Indy's gun based on the original SFX by Ben Burtt for Raiders of the Lost Ark. The game has such an incredible attention to detail, I feel the gun sounds were one of the few oversights in terms of an adherence / accuracy to the films. The vanilla GC sounds are fantastic, but I wanted to start the work on getting some more of these iconic film accurate and authentic sounds into the game. This will be Vol. 1 centering around Indy's revolver, other volumes will bring even more classic and iconic sounds from the Indiana Jones film series into the game where possible.
Easy install, just place my modified "relicrevo01.pack" file in the folder:
"The Great Circle\base\sound\soundbanks\pc"
Let my file overwrite the original.
I'll provide a backup of the original version in case you would like to return to the vanilla sound.
V1.1 - Initial release - I plan to release various other variants in the future, as Indy's iconic gun SFX change their characteristic sound slightly from scene-to-scene and movie-to-movie. This first release is based off what I consider the most iconic base sound, the Streets of Cairo sequence, but I plan a Raven Bar type variant in the near future, as well as variants based on the Temple of Doom, Last Crusade, and a bonus remastered Emperors Tomb version.
- added Indy Revolver Raiders Variant 2 "The Raven"
- added Indy Revolver The Emperors Tomb Variant "The Emperor"
- added Indy Revolver Temple of Doom Variant "Streets of Shanghai"
- added Indy Revolver Last Crusade Variant "Steel Beast"
- added Indy Revolver KOTCS Variant "You Got It, Pal" - *requested - even though Indy doesn't fire his gun in the film, this version incorporates the dropped rifle sound during the films intro sequence. No preview vid for this one, but similar character to the Crusade variant.
Huge thanks to Sarinan for the quickbms script, legendary sound designer Ben Burtt, and MachineGames for an amazing Indy game!
All the best,
CaptainJack
