JWE 2 has been announced! Yep it's a thing. the teaser trailer revealed:

AviariesBajadasaurus Amargasaurus(without a sail because I guess were reverting back into inaccuracy)

And you know waht I'm just gonna express my personal opinion about the Dominion preview that's coming.
So half of the preview or just the beginning will take place 65 million years ago in what I presume is north america. It will feature these dinosaurs (with paleo accurate design) ALL LIVING TOGETHER 65 MILLION YEARS AGO:
Oviraptor, Not a north american species or anything like that. No just straight up mongolian Oviraptor because who the f*ck cares about representing dinosaurs accuratly. OH WAIT wasn't that kind of the point of this film? To show of feathered Dinos and all that?
Now the second dino is Moros, a tiny relative of the T.rex that wasn't even around by 65 million years ago, because it was pretty f*cking extinct by then.
Nasutoceratops died out 11 million years before this opening takes place, But guess what they chose to put in this preview according to some sources. NASUTOCERATOPS.
And then we have the T.rex which will kinda/maybe be the "main character" of this preview. It's one of the two animals in this preview that isn't displaced. the other being Quetzalcoatlus.
AND NOW WE HAVE THE FRICKING CROWN JUEL TO THIS INACCURACY!!!!
A motherflipping, 13 meter long behemoth: GIGANOTOSAURUS IN NORTH AMERICA, BUT THAT'S NOT ALL. IT FIGHTS AND KILLS THE T.REX (which totally isn't gonna attract any controversy because the last time a T.rex died in this franchise it totally didn't cause the entire fandom to set a blaze) And this T.rex is then revealed to be: the T.rex Rexy was cloned from. Meaning we'll probably get some kind of past life revenge story where Rexy kills the giga (which also totally isn't gonna set the internet a blaze).
Oh and then there's dreadnoughtus, you know another dino from south america.
WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING PALEO ACCURATE DINOSAURS IF YOU'RE JUST GONNA IGNORE EVERY OTHER FACT ABOUT THEM?!!! This is like me making a short about the earth in the mesozoic having it take place 65 million years ago, featuring:
Protoceratops, Argentinosaurus, Hatzegopteryx, Sinornithosaurus and Utahraptor.
Have them all live in the exact same place because apparently where they were actually discovered doesn't f*cking matter.
And then I have the Utahraptor fight a Megaraptor show up to specifically beat the sh*t out of the Utah.
HOW THE HELL ARE THEY TRYING TO MAKE THINGS ACCURATE WHEN THEY CLEARLY COULDN'T GIVE LESS OF A SH*T ABOUT IT?!

Gotta say, I was pretty happy with JWE, even though we never got pack hunting or several other things on our wishlists. Modding made it something really special. I am really hyped for the sequel. However, it does seem like they just plugged JWE assets into their PZ system. Even the way this prototype build is rendered in the screenshots feels this way. It's even more bright, saturated, and flatly colored than JWE1. I have faith in Reshade, but I am curious if or how easily JWE2 can be modded at all. We will see.
I agree about the Dominion preview though. Really killed the mood of having feathers for the first time in the franchise after hearing that Tyrannosaurus would be fighting Giganotosaurus in the same place and time during prehistory.
In "present day" you can get away with inaccuracy because of the whole gene editing thing and rewilding dinosaurs on Isla Nublar, Sorna and now the mainland.
But you can't get away with the same things if you're going to set something in actual prehistory and bother giving the animals feathers.
Its really funny when people think accuracy just stops with feathers. But on the bright side, atleast we are in fact getting proper full body feathers in a movie as big as jurassic world is. And as far as i know the feathers don't just stop with Moros.
- dinosaur breeding (ideally with an early mission where they don't tell you about it, and suddenly all "frog" gendered dinosaurs build nests with eggs
- closely tied to the first, dinosaurs growing from hatchlings to juveniles to subadults to adult (all with different gameplay features and preyed on by different kinds of dinosaurs)
- better enclosure options, terrain options, better foliage/plants, maybe dinosaurs feeding directly from plants in it`s enclosure (like the Triceratops in the movie)
For me JWE2 doesn`t compete against Prehistoric Kingdom or JWE with all DLCs, it competes against JWE with all DLCs and mods
(also please don`t make the dinosaurs so horribly inaccurate, like why is that supposed to be Amargasaurus? There is a better mod already)

That said, color me excited for the game.
