I would say that animal is a bit too tall for that This particular "Not Dinosaur"... but then I remembered that JWE likes to exaggerate sizes a lot, just look at Velociraptor.
It might scientifically be bipedal, but it all depends on if you go the scientific way, or the JW way. Canonically, JW cleary have it and the Kaprosuchus being fully quadripedal and using the same rig. Same goes for their hybrid versions. Also, I think everyone has the WWD Postosuchus in their minds.
But hey, either way, I'd be personally happy to have a postosuchus, no matter the approach. No one can order you around telling you which version you should do.
Edit : Also, the Indoraptor might not be a good rig for the Postosuchus, but it might fit an hybrid such as the Gorgosuchus (Gorgosaurus + Kaprosuchus) or the Megalosuchus (Gorgosuchus + Megalosaurus), since these hybrids are stated as being extremely, intelligent, fast and agile. But of course, we have none of these atm, so it's merely an idea.
I love WWD and i adore the Postosuchus from that series so damn much lol. But for me, accuracy matters more than nostalgia or looking cooler.
I'm no modder, i can't even make good looking skins, but if i were, i'd prefer to use bases that closely fit the animals anatomy and possible movement. But that's just me personally, i prefer accuracy, but if someone wants the nostalgic quadruped look, that's their deal not mine lol.
Definitely understandable. And I kinda agree with that. But I can also understand that some people might prefer it looking some way instead of another. I mean, the JP/JW franchise has already so much non scientifically accurate stuff that one more or one less isn't going to change much. And as far as I know, there's not enough mods on the Nexus to turn every dinosaurs into something scientifically accurate. Also, having hybrids at all isn't a good starting point to make a scientifically accurate game lol
Hell, sometimes when I fiddle with the DNA in this game, I add so much firefly, bird or ibex DNA that I'm starting to wonder why my dinosaur doesn't comes out as a freakin monster xD
Definitely not Indoraptor, it's animations are too mammalian an active. Not to mention, Postosuchus was a biped, the best bases for Rausuchians in my opinion are Baryonyx and Majungasaurus.
@Kronensegler But the point is, Baryonyx and Majungasaurus are anatomically similar as far as the rig and animations go. Indo might be the right size, but it's animations are waaaay too erratic for something like a Rausuchian.
Herrarasaurus is more anatomically similar to a Rausuchian compared to Indoraptor. But here we're at the other side of the spectrum.
Indoraptor is the right size, but it's animations are too active and erratic, Herrerasaurus is more anatomically similar, but is too small. And is also way too active for a Rausuchian. Baryonyx and Majungasaurus are really the best options for an accurate Rausuchian mod.
(Many people probably know it anyway. I'm sorry if I have misspelled something, I don't speak English very well & I'm doing this with Google Translate at the moment.)
The JWE Herrerasaurus is 6m long & therefore has a suitable size. It's a little too high. But it is significantly closer than the Majungasaurus.
Majungasaurus is pretty small in jwe and has a similar body plan to a rauisuchian than herrerasaurus, herrerasaurus's arms annoyingly curl + its build is more similar to a theropod (it has longer legs) while majunga has shorter legs and smaller arms
