FERN PRAIRIE

I've been thinking, since we have paleo-accurate version of dinosaurs. the terrain should have some of that accuracy too, IDK if it's possible or not but replacing the grass texture of the terrain with ferns would be a nice touch, since grass plants were only bamboo-like in the cretaceous when they first appeared and ferns were thriving that seems more suited for a dinosaur habitat.

Am massive paleo nerd here. Here is my thoughts:
I'd urge you to check out Jack's realistic scenery mod, which has a grass replacement, which replaces tall grass with a ferny replacement, although he got a bit over zealous and got rid of all the flowers etc, anyway its a good base to build off for praries and forrested areas, next some scattered thickets of the Isla Sorna pack ferns, and some thickets of Leptocycas from Prehistoric Scenery (nonreplacer), whatever tree3 or replacer you're using, and some thickets of the date palms from the Planet Zoo plant pack, Then you can either have some scattered Aracaria trees from the Prehistoic scenery mod or and/or a mix of pinus trees (himalaya pine, and Scots pine) from the Planet Zoo pack. The in game redwoods look pretty good as generic conifers so they can work too, I have the Realistic Redwoods mod so mine are a bit less versatile. This in my opinion should be a good representation of what I imagine to be something like a Morrision formation fern prairie during the wet season. If you can ever get any good treefern mods or bigger fern mods throw them in too. During the dry its likely that most ferns and clubmosses that would make up the verdant prairie would either shrivel up like modern resurrection plants or die back to the rhizomes so replace them with dirt and sand aside from around permanent sources of water.
