CARTORHYNCHUS
Cartorhynchus (car-to-ra-een-kus) might well be one of the more groundbreaking discoveries regarding ichthyosaur research. For over one hundred and fifty years the origins of the ichthyosaurs have been murky until 2011, when a new kind of aquatic reptile was discovered. Cartorhynchus, meaning "shortened snout", was very small - only 40 centimeters long - but this reptile may be an actual ancestor of the ichthyosaurs, or at least a representative of the reptiles that would eventually give rise to the ichthyosaurs.

Known bugs:
- Brachiosaurus icon in map view
- Given how small it is, animation are, um, limited, to say the least. But it works just fine.
- crashing and dinosaur not releasing from hatchery, among other things, MIGHT occur.
You'll have to restart your game after entering the species viewer, every time. This is a current bug with new species in general and it might cause a crash or dinosaurs not releasing.
