About this mod
My attempt at making Santaegidus Island into a Jurassic Park era resort, replete with an Amphitheatre, Aviary and Lagoon. The island has also been designed for free-flying pterosaurs, with a variety of perching spots and feeders present throughout the map for them to use. Both the Dominion BioSyn and Malta DLCs are required!
- Permissions and credits
No dinosaurs, pterosaurs or marine reptiles are included with the download - the island's empty, so you can host whatever species you like in it.
Fixed in the previous update:
- An alternative version of the map file is now included which shouldn't include anything that requires the Feathered Species or Marine Speces DLCs, nor pre-order content.
- Carnivores visiting the Amphitheatre now have a meat feeder, so they don't have territory decay and starve because they forget where the ones they've previously visited are.
- Dinosaurs in the Amphitheatre can now leave it more easily in search of water when they're thirsty (some rocks were removed).
- The view from the tower across from the Aviary should be clearer, with less tree tops getting in the way.
- An extra bench has been added to the little hill next to the path down to the Lagoon, to make it slightly more picnic-y.
- Guests now seem to always be present walking around in the Park when it's set to open - I'm not 100% sure what the issue was before that caused them to sometimes turn up and other times not, but I shuffled a couple of rocks around to move them slightly back from the helipad access path and that seems to have done the trick!
Fixed in update 3.1:
- Major changes to foliage placement here-and-there to make things look better, especially in first person mode or when riding the Park
Drive tour. - Some decorative additions and relocations.
- Minor path design error corrected.
- The Park is now separated by invisible fencing into three sections: Guest Area (main and beach), Amphitheatre and Park Drive, to ensure that dinosaurs added to the Amphitheatre don't go to get a drink and then wander off into Park Drive, never to return and thereafter leaving the Amphitheatre empty.
- Kelp, glorious kelp!
Unless support for the game continues in such a way that Frontier adds a major new guest attraction to the game, such as an equivalent to the Cretaceous Cruise, this map won't be updated again beyond this point.
