I can't believe I didn't find this mod until now! I've always thought the skeleton with the cape and the seven tubes sticking out of its head must have been an early concept of Cat-Lon. I'm terrible with rigging, but I'm really glad to be able to change Cat-Lon to one of those, now.
Yes. While most of the NPCs will spawn just fine without an import the building that this mod adds will need an import to actually show up in game. If you don't import there may be some unintended bugs or glitches.
This mod, like all mods, functions best from a new game. Barring that, an import is the second best option.
I love this mod so much I can't even tell you. Been using it since release on the Workshop.I haven't been able to make my start character anything other than a MKIII Scoutbot since you released it. (To my mind, the MKIII body looks far more advanced than the MKIV.) Downloaded it here just so I can endorse it in 15 minutes lol.
FYI I made a couple of minor patches and tweaks for compatibility with my colors mod. The "shredded uniform" looks great and is a nice atmospheric touch, but the color schemes you assigned directly to characters overrides the player faction and is super dark; you can't tell on Vanilla armor because the Vanilla colormaps are so tiny, but it turned everything to a matte mud with my mod lol. I preserved the original intent and kept it Purple/Black but lightened both up a bit so the Specular values of metal armor weren't destroyed. Also both this and my mod work wonderfully with Shirts For All; another small patch there, since you mapped the undershirts to Primary but they blend in to the main armor pieces, so I've swapped all undershirts to Secondary. The contrast looks better when the full armor is colored.
The dialogue at the [LOCATION REDACTED] was hysterical.
As much as I hated to alter your model, FOR SCIENCE I took one Scout and gave it, well, Scout legs. 65mph lol.
Question, if you ever see this: when I use the "skin tone" slider to make a black Skelly, for some reason the Lionhead and Scout heads lose all detail and become flat and indistinct, looks like a dark void even in direct lighting. I couldn't make heads or tails of the way the heads are constructed lol (what IS that dark circle in the upper left???). I did, however, make a tinted variant of the base texture. PURPLE SCOUTBOT
I like this mod but some of the new Skeletons are much better than the old. I get that was your intention but some of us want to play the game the way it was meant to be played. A same stats version would be nice, as well as a way for the subraces (new heads) to be added to the original skeleton model if possible.
This is what I was hoping for when I saw the mod. I appreciate the effort put into balancing in the mod but I would rather not upset the vanilla game balance and would really enjoy a same stats version.
