There are now children in the world of Kenshi. The children have some stat penalties and some bonuses, which makes them different from the adults of Kenshi.
There are new starts as well. Play as a child of any race, and see how you fare.
(The "Parent Looking for their Child" start has their actual child living somewhere in the world. If you see characters that usually aren't there, they are story characters. Don't talk to them unless you want to find the girl.)
