TOURNAMENT DISABLE

This simple mod came about because of the constant reminder notifications about the Rattay Tournament. They simply have to stop.
NO MATTER WHAT.
"Tournament Disable" is ideal for mid/late game saves when the tournament becomes essentially obsolete, and you don't want to have your immersion continually broken by the numerous quest objective notiifcations, or early game when you don't feel skilled enough to compete. This mod gives you control over when the tournament quest is active and is designed to be installed and uninstalled when needed.
PLEASE NOTE: After Un-Installing "Tournament Disable" the Rattay Tourney will revert to stage one of it's reward cycle. For this reason I strongly suggest you only install the mod AFTER you have got all you want out of the tourney quest, or BEFORE you have started the quest.
"Tournament Disable" addresses the notification issue by hiding the whole tournament. The tourney is a heavily scripted side quest and I’ve found the best (and currently only) solution to stopping the constant notifications is just to hide the whole thing. The quest is still technically running, you just won’t see it, or be able to enrol in it.
Simply just hiding the whole tournament is not as elegant as I would like, and although it gives you control, the mod design does have important information regarding pre-installation.
You MUST read the installation and un-installation instructions below.
"Tournament Disable" doesn't stop the Rattay Tourney if it's already active. The mod only works if the quest is NOT in your quest log.

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS VERY CAREFULLY!

INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE INSTALLING:
All you need to do is make sure the Rattay Tourney is NOT active in your quest log.
(That's basically it)
But it is IMPORTANT because of the SAVE system.
*DO NOT* SAVE THE GAME WITH "TOURNAMENT DISABLE" INSTALLED IF YOU HAVE THE RATTAY TOURNEY IN YOUR QUEST LOG.
If you do the tournament will be permanently unobtainable in that save, and you'll have to revert to an earlier one.
If the quest is currently active, and you have installed "Tournament Disable" when you shouldn't have, close the game, un-install "Tournament Disable", finish the tournament (so no objectives are in your log). Save. Re-install "Tournament Disable". Enjoy.
I take no responsibility for borking a save due to the transparency of information I am providing.
Just install the mod ONLY when the Rattay Tourney is NOT in your quest log and saving will never be an issue.
INSTALLING:
When the quest is in the timer phase (waiting for the next tourney to be announced) and you have NO objectives for the tourney in your quest log, you can safely INSTALL the TyburnTournamentDisable folder (the mod) into your Mods folder. You can play as normal and SAVE WHENEVER YOU WANT.
If you are at the start of a new playthrough I would STRONGLY SUGGEST you wait until you start getting the notices that “there is a tournament in Rattay tomorrow” BEFORE INSTALLING this mod, just to be sure that the tournament cycle has kicked in and is running properly.
Just to reiterate: The tournament is a great continual side quest up to the point where your rewards stop being unique. This mod is intended to be used AFTER you feel you have achieved all you can with the tourney, to stop the constant reminders that it takes place once a week ruining immersion. The fact the Rattay Tourney quest will also revert it's rewards cycle back to stage one after un-installing "Tournament Disable" should also be taken into account. (Thanks to user JMD357 for spotting this.)
The mod can however also be used in the early game to stop the notifications until you are ready to take part.
UN-INSTALLING:
Remove TyburnTournamentDisable from your Mods folder. The tournament can then be participated in again as normal.
PLEASE NOTE: The tourney will revert it's reward cycle back to stage one.
As the quest was never technically disabled, only hidden, the timer will instantly resume when loading back into the game and notifications will again start to appear. I have often found that after un-installing the mod, if you go and talk with someone, the game can immediately start the tournament when finishing a conversation. I believe this is because when the timer reaches it's end (between 6-9 days) it essentially pauses the quest with "Tournament Disable" installed. So when you un-install the mod the tournament is very often ready to go.
I find this quite a useful feature as it often enables you to start the tournament as you see fit. Finish the tournament, collect your rewards, and making sure the Rattay Tourney is NOT in your quest log, you can then re-install TyburnTournamentDisable to continue
enjoying notification free gameplay.

TWEAKS
I have included the key information about installing as a pop up, via script, when loading into the game. After a while this will become annoying and the irony of adding a pop up to a mod wanting to reduce them is not lost on me. To remove it simply delete the Scripts folder found in: TyburnTournamentDisable\Data\TyburnTournamentDisable.pak
You'll need some zip opening software to open TyburnTournamentDisable.pak. I strongly suggest 7zip.
The script also has a notification on start up that the mod is installed. If you'd like the notification to stay (can be quite useful) but the pop up removed:
Open TyburnTournamentDisable\Data\TyburnTournamentDisable.pak\Scripts\Startup
Open the file: TyburnTournamentDisable_startup.lua
Delete the whole block of code that starts with: ex('#Game.ShowTutorial
Save. Close the file. Hit ok. Close the zip.

FUTURE PLAN
Having already got close to being able to turn the tournament on and off at will with a toggle script I will continue to try and implement this properly, but I make no promises.

FINAL COMMENT
Just remember to ONLY install "Tournament Disable" when your quest log is free from the Rattay Tourney quest and all should be fine.
To make clear: ONLY the main Rattay Tourney quest CAN NOT be in your quest log. ALL of the quests that intertwine with this main quest are SAFE to be in your log. 'Capon's champion', 'Dead men tell no tales' and 'Who do you like' CAN be active with "Tournament Disable" installed. You just might not be able to complete them, depending what objective you are on, until the tournament is running again (you've un-installed the mod).
Any issues or concerns please use the comments board.
