Preface:

I found it a pity that there are so many cool looking gambesons/pourpoints/caftans in the game, yet you never get to see them much throughout a normal playthrough.
I was an avid KCD1 player back in the days and after hundreds of hours poured into that game, I came out thinking that combat jacket, which is basically a type of gambeson that can be worn on top of armor, was the coolest piece of gear among all the fashion options available in KCD1, and its absence in KCD2 is sorely missed.

This mod started out as an update for my previous mod Refined Garments and as an attempt to address the issues mentioned above, but it sprawled into a mod of its own, after I have enough success repurposing vanilla assets and solve model glitches of unique NPC outfits to make a selection of gambesons/pourpoints/caftans that you can wear as top layer garments.

Contents of Outer Garments:

1.4 Update
Spoiler:
Show

> Adds Zizka's Armor set, big thanks to Bergmanmalton for giving permission to reuse their custom colorized icons
There are already a few mods that have done this, differences in my mod:
All variants have darker textures in general, plus wool fishbone texture alternatives
The torso piece no longer shows phantom sleeves when wearing other plate sleeves
A scuffed remodeled variant of the jack chains arms, fits better with gambeson but looks okayish with most torso pieces.
Alternative leg plates without the decorative attachments in the middle
> Adds Noble's Bascinet, Nuremberg Bascinet, with gold/iron dark, satin/chainmail/gambeson collar variants.
> Adds Iron rivet / gold trim variants for some existing armors
> Fixes unique models' like Outer Pourpoint, Aulitz's Brigandine overwriting or overwritten by other gear pieces, etc.
> Servant's Hoods added by this mod no longer show dirt texture effects.

1.3 Update
Spoiler:
Show

> New variants of Outer Gambeson V1/V2/V3
Big thanks to Kellborn on the KCD Modding Community Discord for creating a modified torso model of Godwin's Gambeson, which looks much slimmer and fits a young lad like Henry.
Outer Gambeson V1: uses Kellborn's torso model, other than that the same as the original Outer Gambeson
Outer Gambeson V2: basically V1 + Long Pourpoint's sleeves, if you want an even slimmer and more "condensed" look
Outer Gambeson V3: uses original torso model and textures of Bergov's Gambeson without the dark undertone, plus Long Pourpoint's sleeves, if you want a more "regal" look. The engravings on the metallic belt are restored, but colorization in general is still subject to change.

> Adds Magdeburg Cuirass, Milanese Cuirass, Noble's Spurs, Red Cross Waffenrock, using mostly dark textures.

> To fix Outer Pourpoint's texture and avoid similar issues caused by future game updates, now this mod uses independent copies of some unique NPC's assets.

1.1 Update
Spoiler:
Show

> Aulitz's Brigandine
Adds recolorized variants of Aulitz's Brigandine, the stain on the surface comes with the special model itself.

> Warhorse Waffenrock
Adds recolorized variants of Warhorse Waffenrock.

> Adds various variants of Polner/Cross/Garbow Waffenrocks.

> Adds an Aulitz unique model collar that doesn't hide neck area components, especially useful for items that show extra collar parts like those from this mod and you don't want them to disappear when wearing full layer armors.

> Adds Italian Bascinet using Istvan, Bergov and Capon's exclusive textures, variants with gambeson collar included.

> Adds Zizka's Coif, colorization probably a bit different from other mods, darker chainmail variants included.

> Adds monochrome variants of Gambeson and Caftan, in black, dark black, white and grey.
Temporarily changes dark black parts of previous gambesons to avoid dirt model glitches.

Outer Gambeson
Spoiler:
Show

A new type of gambeson that I recreated through combing the upper part of von Bergov's Gambeson and lower part as well as arms of Godwin's Old Gambeson.
The collar and sleeves make it look the closest to Combat Jacket in KCD1.
Gambeson wtih prefix "Outer" can be worn as top layer garment, whereas "Inner" gambesons serve as normal gambeson with the same appearance.

Outer Pourpoint
Spoiler:
Show

A new type of pourpoint that is based on Han's unique outfit, its model glitches when wearing plate sleeves are mostly fixed, now when you wear plate sleeves it will behave the same as other vanilla coats.

Outer Caftan
Spoiler:
Show

Lavish Caftans which are wearable as top layer garment, gambeson-like and black leather textures are applied to most of them to make them look thicker.
Normal versions also included in case you really like how the bottom part of padded Lavish Caftan looks with full plate armour on.

Other items
Spoiler:
Show

A bunch of plate armors with dark color palettes in general, mostly choosing textures that look consistently black even under bright daylight.
Each type has 3 variants, using metal texture exclusive to Istvan, Bergov and Capon, they seem to have some sorts of subtle but distinct tint.

All leg plates have predefined dark hose and underwear textures, to prevent weird colors appearing in where pizzles are yanked.

Bavarian Plate Legs: using Istvan's special version, the golden linings are more pronounced in this model.
Half Plate Gauntlets: Bergov's special model, it's half plate indeed but it overwrites the upper arms of your current garment, no fix currently.
Magdeburg Plate Arms: Aulitz's special version, it doesn't have the engravings on the sides, some might prefer this.
Noble's Gauntlets: Outer Gambeson and Outer Pourpoint's sleeves would clip through unless using bigger gauntlets, Noble's Gauntlets looks sublime and don't clip.
Servant's Hood: due to parameter overlaps, there are visual glitches when wearing Outer Pourpoint and Zizka's Coif at the same time, might be unavoidable so I added color themed Servant's Hoods with badges to add more fashion possibilities.
Others: Half Plate Legs, Noble Brigandine Legs, Silesian Brigandine Sleeves, Nuremberg Plate Gauntlets, Travel Boots, etc.

Other mods I've made:

Refined Garments: Adds a plethora of coats, hoods and gloves with models, textures and color palettes based on NPCs' unique outfits.
Boring Black Swords: Adds craftable black scabbard and sword grip variants for notable longswords and shortswords.
Steel Brow: Changes the "Head Protection" perk to give you 25%/50%/75%/99% head damage reduction even without wearing a helmet.

> Items added by this mod not showing up in merchant:
You have a mod that overwrites the entire InventoryPreset file or modifies the same armorer in Kuttenberg, and it's loaded after this mod.

> Items added by this mod don't exist at all, can't even add with console commands:
You have a mod that overwrites the entire CharacterComponent file or item file, and it's loaded after this mod.

> Auto add items to player's stash submod not working:
You have a mod that overwrites perk or buff_perk related files, and it's loaded after this mod.

I recommend using the IPM Tool (InventoryPreset Merger Tool) to solve InventoryPreset conflicts if you run into related issues using this mod along with others.

Known Issues:

Spoiler:
Show

Sometimes when you first load into a game or a new scene, the inner layer of Outer Gambeson's collar will have texture glitches.
Unequip Outer Gambeson, wearing a dark color inner layer garment, then reequip Outer Gambeson fixes the issue most of the time.

Around the groin area there might be modeling gaps between the outer garment and hose worn inside, it's due to how shorter inner garment interacts with lower body hose, wearing a longer gambeson inside for exmaple will fix the issue.

Outer Gambeson's bottom half, which uses Godwin's Old Gambeson model, when combined with gambeson puffy dark black texture, will look extremely muddy even with a tiny bit of dirt collected, currently I've "disabled" the dirt layer of all related models, blood and scratches still apply.

How to obtain items from Outer Garments:
> The armorer northeast to Kuttenberg's Fountain sells all items at tier 4 quality.
> Download cheat codes list from optional files and run in game console.
> Download the optional submod to add all items automatically into player's stash.
