Skyrim Mod Sanctuary 71 : CTD and Memory patch ENBoost

  • Comment

The latest version of the ENB mod comes with new memory management code that may help with performance and stability, but what about people who dont use the ENB mod? Well a new mod called ENBoost allows you to use the new features of this mod without the graphical changes, and in this video I take alook at it and see what benefits I can get from it.

I thought I installed this correctly, followed the vid step for step but when I try to launch the game I get a message saying the skyrim installer stopped working....did I miss a step?

I really would like to get this to work

EDIT: ok I got it working by putting the dbd9.dll file in the enbseries folder. does that stop it from working?

Try to disable some effects - like SSAO or something. I personally use ENB just for the detailed shadows and nothing else.

    I was confused about this.
    well I have a low-end system that's why i don't use ENB.
I can barely run it Skyrim in low video settings, and got annoyed on CTD.
and when I saw this "but what about people who dont use the ENB mod? "
then when i saw the requirements, it required the ENB series.

i guess i might try it.(currently watching the Video documentation.)

To clear up the confusion, ENBoost uses the d3d9.dll that is part of ENB (Thats the file that does all the lifting/magic).But the .ini file provided with ENBoost doesn't have any of the special effects of ENB turned on. Neither does it come with any of the special effect configuration files. In essence it is ENB yes, but with only the memory optimization parts enabled.

Some of the effects look quite incredible in screenshots so it's not a complete waste of fps for the screenshot-rangers out there.

And regardless, this is a version of enbseries that increases your fps rather than decreasing it.(assuming you don't enable the normal enbseries effects)

Actually, I use them because it's quite the opposite. My game looks and performs *better* with an ENB config.

I use ENB's for better visuals and smoother textures. I use the Texture pack Combiner and K ENB. Together they work miracles. And I have absolutely 0 FPS loss so Id say that your rig just sucks.

could someone link a alternative  link to download the enbseries 199 you need before installing the mod

because of a visual impairment it is almost impossible for me to read tiny grey or light blue letters on a white background  and i just can not find the link

I have run into a problem after installing ENBoost. Hopefully Gopher will point me in the right direction. ( shameless sucking up going on here )

My problem is that the Skyrim performance monitor does NOT show in the top left of the screen anymore ???
It DID before I installed ENBoost

    Any idea why??

Check if you have ticked the box for compatibility with custom d3d9.dll in setup options.
