Hello from Poland! Just wanted to thank you for all the work you put into it. Even on my crappy PC it looks awsome. Just wanted to give people with Origin copy of the game a tip if it wasn't pointed out somewhere already. I had problems running the game after installing the mod. I kept uninstalling and installing both the game and the mod for the past two days getting upset and thinking to myself how dumb I am for not being able to install something so easy. I have no AV, I had a clean install of the game, my MassEffect.exe was in the exceptions in Windows Defender, I had installed only same gender romance and Improved Mako. Tried installing the mod with shader and without it, tried 4k textures and then 2k textures but my game just wouldn't launch, Origin dissapeared for 2 seconds and then reappeared with play button active. SO... I googled Origin games not launching and maybe the second article helped me. And I felt even dumber for not checking it before but my Origin was not in Windows Defender exceptions (facepalm). Once I added it the game works like normal. So if someone is having the same problem check/add your exceptions. Thank you and great job :D
Well I can imagine, I suggest you don't force AA setting at the driver level that do that lol. Sorry I find that video hilarious.
This happens modded or unmodded, there is a guide out there that recommends forcing AA settings and that don't work on ME1, causes a huge blue light bleed.
Make sure AA settings for mass effect are not forced, use application controlled or disabled. Try DSR feature to get superior AA without any glitches.
Maybe this has been answered previously, but I am a little lazy to go sifting through 1000 posts. The ALOT mod page notes that these two mods will work together, but does it matter the order for which they get installed? I understand that your MERLIN mod will get installed after MEUITM, but I'm curious if I should install ALOT first and then install MEUITM and MERLIN.
Get an error "soft Shadows mod failed to install! Splash mod failed to install!", i tried follow the instruction: extracting the contents of the zip file in to game directory, then deleted LocalShaderCache-PC-D3D-SM3.upk, but i still get an error "soft Shadows mod failed to install! Splash mod failed to install! I don't know what i did wrong, i installed that mod before and it was working perfectly
First of all, thank you for the awesome mod MEUITM! I’ll write my comment on setting up this wonderful game. It didn’t work out with LE, it was impossible to play normally as a infiltrator because of bugs i t.c. This is how I set up ME1 to get a crisp and clean picture with AA, the graphics are even better than in LE! The installation procedure must be strictly followed, otherwise the game will break.
1. install game in English version 2. run the GAME to creates a folder C:\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 3. download mods and prog, all in nexusmods.com: "ME3Tweaks Mod Manager Build 8.2.3"; "Black Blobs fix for AMD CPU users"; "Faster Elevators3.0"; "Improved MAKO" v1 or v2; install all this mod (if you need) 4. RUN the GAME, set the graphics to maximum, this all must be done BEFORE installation MEUITM, otherwise the shadows will go away a little. You can check the installation is correct using the path C:\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect\Config\BIOEngine, DepthBias=0.03000, MaxShadowResolution=512
5. download and install: ReShade_Setup_5.9.2 (from reshade.me), select in installation: Dx9; SweetFX by CeeJay + iMMERSE by McFly; 6. install "A Lot of Videos (ALOV) for ME1" for HD video 7. install "MEUITM 2021" (if everything is installed correctly "BIOEngine" will look like this: DepthBias=0.006000, MaxShadowResolution=2048) 8. run the game, When loading the game you need to click on the loading window, otherwise there will be an error and the game will not start! (this error occurs because of the ReShade prog); in GAME press "Home" button, check the boxes: FXAA +iMMERSE Sharpen
Hi I am getting the error upon launching "Attempting to load unused mip #0 for Texture2D BIOG_HMF_HGR_HVY_R.BRT.HMF_BRT_HVYb_Spec" address = 0x5d1f9e0 (filename not found) alcclosedevice0 address = 0x36748e7 (filename not found) [in (my install)-Mass Effect/Binaries/OpenAL32.dll] gmatrix2d::swap0 address =0x10db34f0 (filename not found) [in origin games/mass effect/binaries/masseffect.exe] free0 address = 0x7aeb4c58 (filename not found) [in C:\windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.5072 7.9672_none_d08f9da24428a513\MSVCR80.dll] I found previous posts with somewhat similar issues but none exactly matching and the fixes I tried didn't work, any help would be appreciated thank you.
This happens if MEUITM was not the last mod installed and a smaller mip map has been installed after either in a content mod or if the game partially restored to vanilla, or localization has been installed. Mass Effect mods in all cases require textures to be installed last for this reason.
To fix you must restore the game to a vanilla state and delete the bioengine.ini in the My Documents\Bioware\Config directory If you don't delete this file the mip map error will persist as that file is telling the game to look for mip maps that don't exist in an unmodded game.
I also have the exact same issue, but MEUITM was definitely the last mod I installed. It was working just fine prior to the texture installation (I downloaded ALOT, MEUITM, the ALOV patch and a custom Shepard texture all at the same time), and got this message as soon as I clicked play.
I even tried your method of deleting the bioengine.ini after restoring the game, and it still happened, same "Attempting to load unused mip #0 for Texture2D BIOG_HMF_HGR_HVY_R.BRT.HMF_BRT_HVYb_Spec" message. Is there any other workaround?
Sorry, I meant that the issue comes whenever I install my texture mods - the vanilla and regular modded game boots up just fine, but as soon as I install ALOT and MEUITM, the message pops up and the game closes.
The file in question is for Human Female Heavy, but none of my mods affect that, unless ME1Recalibrated counts. That mod changes Ashley's default armour so she wears Heavy Phoenix Armour instead of the Medium Phoenix she wears in vanilla. I'll try again real quick and let you know if it works this time or not.
EDIT: I don't know what I've done wrong, but this time, it won't launch at all. I have done several restores, several full reinstalls, even restarted my PC and did some health/registry checks. The most I've gotten so far is the game's splash screen appearing, like it's trying to load, before it just closes and EA Desktop re-appears. Every single time.
If you followed C3Anderson's instructions, unfortunately your install will be broken until you do some further manual work. The issue is in the \Username\Documents\BioWare\Config folder.
Uninstall the game. Then go to that folder, and delete everything except your Saves folder (for obvious reasons!) Now, reinstall the game.
This forces the installer to put fresh files there, instead of using the old ones that still remain from old install. This allowed me to successfully get the game running again after having the same issue you describe. Now, we will see if I can actually get MEUITM+ALOT to work... I have had the exact same missing mip issue several times before this latest attempt going on right now. Totally fresh installation of ME1, so the issue is either something EA Desktop app is doing to screw us over, or the ALOT installer needs updating to work properly with EA Desktop installs, or there is an actual issue with the ALOT installer. I am going with the problem being somewhere with interaction with EA crApp.
EDIT - I have a successful installation of ALOT with MEUITM. Double and triple check everything to do with EA telemetry and downloading of your games is turned off, and make sure EA In-game is off. Start with a true clean install, which means also deleting everything in your Documents folder besides your saves, so that data can be repopulated freshly.
I think something is breaking my game, it works fine when I install it, but when I turn off my pc and turn it back on, it's completely broken, EA just tell me that there was an error while launching and to try again later, but it does work obviously. I dealt with this before once by reinstalling every mod once again, but this happened again. I'm only suspicious of this one, bc its the biggest one( I have the HD videos, controller fix, and recalibrated, it might be the last one as well)
pretty sure it's the new EA app. see here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports-Technical-Issues/EA-App-cloud-sync-enumerating-save-directory-of-games-thousands/m-p/12247837#M16769
load the ALOT installer and select MEUITM it will take you to the files and everything you need. The directions are very good. I worked with the ALOT team in testing and setup of MEUITM, MEUITM2 and MERTLIN to all work within the ALOT installer.

With this pack the original ME1 blows LE1 out of the water, I couldn't play mele with how hideous everyone looks now

If you have an unused mip map issue something is not vanilla either mod are still installed, or the bioengine.ini is still changed from vanilla state.

Thanks @C3Anderson, still a fantastic mod!
