Hello Ottemis, if you are still about! I was wondering, are you considering porting this or any of your mods to the Legendary Edition if that proves to be a possibility? I don't actually know if that will even be possible or if you still have interest in doing that kind of work, but I certainly hope so. Your work is frankly awesome and I'm not sure I want to look at Edi without this mod again.
Regardless, thank you for the mod in the first place and I hope you are well.
your MECH retexture is my absolute favorite for EDI, and the only one I ever use for her; it is absolutely gorgeous!! thank you so much for sharing it <3
Some people dont know how to install tpf files. A more friendly installation guide would likely be greatly appreciated by people who plan on implementing this gorgeous mod.
I got you though, maybe.
- Download the file, open the zip, and extract the contents to anywhere you like
- Start up ME3 Explorer, click on Mod Maker. - Click Load and select the .mod installer file you extracted earlier. - Click Run All. Done!
- In ME3 Explorer, click on TPF Tools. - Click Load and choose one of the two TPF files you extracted earlier. You can repeat this step whenever you want to change the TPF, so no stress. - Click Check All at the top left, Analyse with Texplorer at the bottom left, and Install Valid. When it says Installed 20/20 valid mods, you may close this window.
Your welcome assuming that information is correct, conformation would be appreciated. I am fairly new to this my self.
Man you had me scared... your instructions are very shallow in my "humble Garrus Vakarian opinion" ... I was concerned that i may do something wrong an have to start clean from a fresh download and re add all my mods... Praise the goddess!
Hi all, I just wanted to post this here for anyone else who is/are having trouble on how to install it with ALOT. I respect that Ottemis no longer has anything to do with ALOT anymore but you can still install this mod with it. So, I hope they don't mind me posting this here? (If you do, tell me and I will take it down.)
That being said, I've posted on two other mesh mod pages that I've used as I felt like there are no real answers on how to install this with the installer. Anyway, to install this mod with ALOT, first of all, make sure you've downloaded and imported the required and recommended (your choices) files listed on the installer. As the documentation and the program says, user files are what are installed last. In my case I downloaded the 'EDI Default Outfit Basegame - MECH' file. With it downloaded, extract it. Inside are two files (the main texture tpf file and the mesh mod file). All you have to do is drag these files onto the ALOT installer and choose to install for Mass Effect 3. As far as I know, the two other mods that I know for sure work with this and install the same way are the Vanilla Hair Tweaks mod by ELE08 and the Buff Female Shepard Body mod by horography. That's because they're mesh mods.
I will say this as I did in the other two posts, please make sure to always read ALOT's documentation to be absolutely sure that it supports installing mesh mods and how and when (if it's still possible to use them with it) to install them safely. I also said make sure to back up your vanilla game files as I'm always paranoid anyway (new to PC modding - console gamer), you can never be too sure/safe (I don't claim to know at all how these mods work as I'm not a master modder, I just know the basic file types and what they do).
With that said, thank you so much to Ottemis for this amazing mod! I never liked that when EDI came online they never changed the Cerberus logo into an Alliance one. This texture is so highly detailed and I favour the one where you can see all the wires/cables/mech parts underneath. It does so much for my immersion! Well done, I love it and keep up the great work! I love all of your HR retextures!
[P.S. I'm gonna stick this here too, as I did before, as I want to make clear that this is correct and working with the game and the current incarnation of the ALOT installer as of the date of this post. I can't be for certain in the far future if this method will work so like I said, always make sure to read ALOT's documentation to make sure mesh mods are compatible with it and when to install!]
Hello! Dumb question - I know how to install this via the ME3 Explorer and all, but I was curious if I could use this with the alot installer? The installer includes some of your other mods for EDI, so I was just wondering. If I could, what would I do with the .mod file? Thank you, gorgeous mod by the way.
Hoping for a little help... I followed the step by step another commenter left months ago, AFAIK I did everything properly, but the mod is only half working, and I suspect it's for the following reason:
When I load the TPF, it has a little notification at the bottom of the UI saying '2/11 files validated' despite checking all the boxes in the list of textures, I assume this means the other 9 aren't being installed when I try to finalize everything. I go in game, and EDI's visor is gone, so I know the mod is being recognized and installed partially, but I can't figure out how to validate the other 9 files and I can't find any help through Google.
Glad to hear it’s sorted. Did you have another mod installed with MEM or so that replaced part of EDIs textures? Or what was your situation? Might help other users to follow up. Greets Otte.
I never figured out why the issue was happening, and I didn't have anything else installed via ME3Explorer, but what got it sorted was using the A.L.O.T. installer and dragging and dropping the .tpf and .mod files into that app's UI and installing them that way.
I had a similar issue (my ME3Explorer was reflecting 19/21 files after I hit Analyze). I fixed this issue by using the Autofix featue, and then Installing Valid. All 21 files were found and applied. Texture worked just fine after, and it looks great!
Prior to fixing it this way, I could see the Mech head, but the texture of Ottemis' version of EDI's outfit was sort of.. layered on top of EDI's vanilla texture. I could see her garters, as well as a faded Cerberus symbol on her chest. Also the nipple rings. Why did they have to give here nipples? lol
Though I'll admit I thought it was kind of cool that you could still see a faded Cerberus symbol on her chest. EDI IS a Cerberus creation.. but the way the two textures were layered it looked like she had scratched it out and applied the Alliance logo on top of it, as a way of symbolizing her departure from Cerberus. Anyway I'm rambling :D

I'd advise using ME3Explorer version 3.0.1 or above.
I am in the process of updating the few mods that are currently not compatible with this version.
Regardless, thank you for the mod in the first place and I hope you are well.
But i encountered a bug. When going to Dr Bryson's lab in Leviathan, Edi has no neck, only in the first visit.
I should also install the "EDI Head no Visor - MECH" optional file when using armor mods?
