Coffees are very much appreciated and noticed, especially as modding tends to extend long into the night, where caffeine helps me stay awake.

Bigger. Better. Bolder.
Similar to Immersive Thessia Mod, the re-release of Suicide Mission Overhaul Mod for the Legendary Edition doubles as both a port of the original and an update for the same.
SMOM features a new mechanic, called Boosting, that allows some characters to succeed at tasks they'd otherwise fail at. At the same time, it restores large amounts of cut content and introduces improvements specifically for the Legendary Edition.
As with any Orikon mod, SMOM maintains the authentic and Vanilla+ style of design that you've come to expect from my work, so you will never feel like you're playing through The Collector Base with a mod installed. You have my personal guarantee for all of that.
But how does SMOM differentiate itself from Risky Suicide Mission or Loyalty Matters? Expand the section below or, even better, read the post on X!
The Boosting Mechanic explained:
The new mechanic - called "Boosting" - applies only to characters who have corresponding cut content and who are also loyal. For instance, Zaeed has dialogue lines and cutscene animations associated with a successful Fire Team Leader. Jack does not, and thus, she cannot be Boosted in that particular role.
Boosting a character can be done in one of two ways:
1) Take them on two missions featuring Collector enemies. Narratively, this gives the character more experience/expertise fighting Collectors, therefore making them more suited to a task.
2) Romance them, and take them on one mission featuring Collector enemies. Narratively, romancing a character improves their morale/resolve, and a prior mission featuring Collectors makes them more familar with the enemy.
This kind of system means that Boosting a character requires a new playthrough, however, it also means that mods like Early Recruitment and my More Difficult Loyalties pair beautifully with SMOM. And yes, that is by design.
Combined together, these 3 mods will introduce an unprecedented level of flexibility and choice/consequence correlation into your next Mass Effect 2 playthrough.
Here is the full list of characters who can be Boosted:
Tech Specialist: Jacob, Thane, Mordin, Garrus
1st Fireteam Leader: Thane, Grunt, Zaeed
Biotic Specialist: Thane, Miranda, Jacob
2nd Fireteam Leader: Thane, Grunt, Zaeed

Bug Fixes
- Fixed a LE-specific bug where some metalic surfaces such as cover did not use the correct material. (see Images)
- Fixed a LE-specific bug by repairing the material related to all metalic surfaces, resulting in a functioning Cubemap. (see Images)
- Adjusted streaming/loading in one area so that the new LE-specific lighting doesn't jarringly manifest itself into existence before your eyes.
- The Human-Reaper Reveal scene will no longer end 2 seconds too early.
- Fixed a bug where 2 of Grunt's lines (as Fireteam leader) have a mismatch between the voice acting and subtitle.
General
- Implemented the Boosting mechanic to the Tech Specialist, 1st Fireteam Leader, Biotic Specialist, and 2nd Fireteam leader.
- Harbinger will speak various lines the first time he possesses a Collector in each area.
Intro + the Long Walk
- During the space battle, Normandy's window shutters will be open, and the background will reflect the Galactic Core.
- Restored death screams of companions who die to Occuli lasers.
- Rebalanced the Infiltrator section gameplay: all valve timings are reduced by 50%.
- Restored 2 cut lines spoken by the Biotic Specialist during the Long Walk.
- New Mechanic: During the Long Walk, your chosen Biotic Specialist now has an HP bar and will need to be protected from enemy fire. Their death results in the barrier breaking and Seeker Swarms overwhelming everyone. Specific details of the mechanic are described in the Articles section.
Hold the Line + Human-Reaper Reveal
- Improved lighting in the combat area leading up to the Human-Reaper.
- In the combat area leading up to the Human-Reaper, platforms carrying new enemies will now trigger once 2 enemies from the current platform are killed, rather then after everyone is killed.
- For visual consistency, the scene where Shepard approaches the Human-Reaper now plays starting with the second half.
- Lighting overhaul for the final area with the Human Reaper. A blend between OT and LE.
- During the Human-Reaper reveal, the music will no longer end abruptly.
- Completely overhauled the Human-Reaper conversation. (see Videos)
Reaper Combat + Ending
- Significantly boosted the HP of each Conduit. Heavy weapons are recommended.
- Significantly boosted the damage done by the Reaper's blast.
- Staying on collapsing platforms will result in Shepard falling to their death, rather than being teleported away. A warning notification appears shortly before the platform falls. Harbinger also plays his lines as a warning he will destroy a platform.
- Harbinger will speak lines when 2 Conduits are destroyed and as the Reaper falls.
- During combat, Shepard will speak one of the lines from the alternate Human-Reaper dialogue.
- Restored Harbinger's original ending lecture. If you kept the Collector base, an alternative lecture will play instead.

Full incompatibility list:
CAUC
(LE2) Liara Squadmate
Reaper Husk Consistency Mod
Risky Suicide Mission (LE2)
(LE2) Loyalty Matters
Big Guddamn Hero (LE2)
Miranda's Long walk
Most of these, except Liara and Reaper Husks, implement features that are already inside SMOM.
Simply plug and play.
Please note that the Boosting mechanic will not work on existing playthroughs where you already finished the missions without SMOM.
In other words, characters cannot be retroactively Boosted, although SMOM offers plenty of value even without that mechanic.
FAQ
"Is there any point in installing SMOM without a new playthrough?"
Actually, if you install SMOM before the Derelict Reaper, you can still Boost a single character of your choice.
Just romance them and then bring them with you on board the Reaper. Thane or Miranda are a good choice.
"Will the material fixes and lighting changes make it into a separate mod?"
is a decision entirely up to Khaar and his team.
"What's the benefit of SMOM over Risky Suicide Mission?"
Our mod also features various changes and improvements not found in RSM, such as restored cut content and better visuals.
SMOM also introduces a mechanic where the Biotic Specialist needs to be protected during the Long Walk,
more improvements to the Reaper boss fight, and edits to the initial space battle.
