This mod is required to get the most out of the VT-X, vanilla weapon mods and custom attachments won't work without it.
Mistyvail was extremely helpful in getting this up and running and providing insights on how to make things go. I didn't use their files or assets in this mod but their knowledge is all over the place so taking a moment to acknowledge the help and coaching they provided.

Updated all weapon animations, Basepose, Expand, Collapse, Collapsed to reposition the weapon when holstered higher on Shepard's back. This is more in line with the position of vanilla weapons.

Important Notice: I've created many mods for other games and several for myself in LE but this is my first mod release for Mass Effect. I haven't had any major issues thus far but there are a ton of existing mods I haven't tried this with yet. I did my best to make sure this will work well with most of the essential ones but it would be impossible for me to check them all. I highly recommend backing up your game saves before loading up this mod. It is a simple, super easy step to protect against unforeseen hiccups.
Ok now to the fun stuff! What this mod includes:
A new Assault Rifle named the Vortex: Experimental Assault Rifle aka VT-X (Purchased at the Spectres' Store)
3 round burst fire mode
2x Custom attachments specifically for the VT-X (obtainable at the Spectres' Store once the rifle has been purchased)
Recon Scope Spec Ops Serrated Bayonet
Custom weapon animations for drawing and storing your weapon - holster position updated 12/8/24
Custom Firing Animations
Custom muzzle flash
Shell Casing ejects once per round 3x per bust
Custom flavor text at the shop, weapon bench, notifications and so on
Mistyvail's More Weapon Mods is required for standard weapon modifications, custom attachments, more weapon mod choices, and fun toys like the laser pointer and ammo counter
The VT-X and it's attachments can be purchased at the Spectre Store. Weapon upgrade levels can be purchased at the upgrade vendors.
Functions that are just like any of the vanilla assault rifles:
Upgradeable to level 5 in a regular game, 10 in a NG+
Modifiable at the weapons bench
Body colors change with mod levels when equipped
Things that are different from other assault rifles
Default Assault Rifle Omni-Blade is disabled for this weapon and replaced with a new mod called the Spec Ops Bayonet
The Recon Scope has multiple lenses providing a full Field of View which removes the HUD when zoomed (does not impact or remove the hud from traditional scopes)
Crafted to fit (as best I could) both Bro and Fem Shepard's shooting stance
And so much more. Just about every aspect of this gun was made from scratch, customized, tweaked and fine tuned.
