I also reverted the difficulty settings to the ones used in the original Max Payne 2 (as many ModDB users complained that the default Payne Effects 3 settings made Max almost invincible) & disabled bullet-time music added by the mod (as it wasn't especially well-received either).
How to install:
Just drag and drop the contents of the mod archive into your Max Payne 2 folder, overwrite files if needed, and then choose the mod in the "Choose Customized Game" field of the game launcher. The latest version of ThirteenAG's WidescreenFix is already included in the mod.
There are versions for different screen resolutions including 1920x1080, 2560x1440, 3840x1080, 4480x1440 (I chose those because, according to the latest Steam survey, they were the most common among the PC gaming community as of 2024). If you play in a screen resolution lower than 1920x1080, download the original ModDB version instead as the game HUD in this Nexus one will only be displayed correctly in widescreen resolutions. In addition, an earlier version of the mod, Payne Effects 2 (2009), is included for those players who prefer the original shootdodge mechanics and not the one introduced by Payne Effects 3.
