Wanted a reason to replay the main campaign? No? Well, there's one now. Earn your keep and fight against new heroes in the main stories boss encounters utilizing YAML's game systems.

YAML AND YAW IS REQUIRED FOR THIS MOD!
A few years ago, the mod Campaign Villain Mechs was uploaded to the site that allowed players to earn new hero mechs from the main campaign's various boss encounters. In addition, it also changed some of the boss encounters to be more difficult by upping the enemy AI's pilot skills and changing some of the spawned mechs to heavier opponents. This provided a pretty good reason to replay the main story, even if it is just to obtain a few new mechs. Sadly, the mod was only made with vanilla MW5 in mind and, while it still mostly functions today, it was never made to be YAML compatible and hasn't been updated since DLC2.

I decided to take it upon myself to remake the mod as a YAML compatible experience and expand on some of the aspects the original mod had. This mod features thirty five new heroes based on the game's main/Kestrel/Rasalhague campaign's stories and characters, changes to enemy opposition to provide more varied and difficult boss battles, and changes the boss AI's to be a little more dangerous. Don't want to replay the campaign, but still want the new mechs? Have no fear! They are also available to be obtained in Career and Instant Action as well.

Recommended mods for an even more challenging experience: Coyote's Mission PackTTRulez_AI, and Increased Enemy Difficulty.

MISSION CHANGES
Main Campaign
Tutorial and Campaign Start
  • Nikolai Mason's Victor VTR-9B replaced with the VTR-NIK hero mech.
  • Player Centurion CN9-A replaced with the CN9-CAV hero mech.
  • After playing or skipping the tutorial, the CN9-CAV will be in the hangar for repairs.
Last Man Standing
  • Rook and his Black Jack BJ-1 are now earnable rewards. This is also a feature in Yet Another IS Mech which will be removed from that mod next update.
First Strike
  • Black Inferno Captain's Warhammer WHM-6R replaced with the WHM-BLK hero mech.
  • Black Inferno Boss Lance Commando COM-1B, Panther PNT-8Z, Assassin ASN-21, and Javelin JVN-10F replaced with a Kintaro KTO-18, Crab CRB-20, Rifleman RFL-3C, and Catapult CPLT-C1.
  • Warhammer WHM-6R mission reward replaced with the WHM-BLK.
  • Black Inferno mechs now use Tier 2 weapons.
Lock n' Load
  • Kruger's Marauder MAD-3R replaced with the MAD-INF hero mech.
  • Kruger's Lance Blackjack BJ-1 and Hunchback HBK-4G replaced with a Warhammer WHM-6D and Archer ARC-2R.
  • Marauder MAD-3R mission reward replaced with the MAD-INF.
  • Black Inferno mechs now use Tier 3 weapons.
Black Harvest
  • Nikolai's Victor VTR-9B piloted by Zavarov replaced with the VTR-NIK hero mech.
  • Victor VTR-9B replaced with the VTR-NIK.
  • Zavarov now properly pilots the Victor.
  • The encounterable Atlas AS7-D has been replaced with the AS7-GR hero mech and is available as a reward.
  • Damaged aka "Zombie" mechs encountered in the mission use Elite AI, improved pilot skills, and Tier 3 weapons.
  • Zavarov and her lance use Tier 5 weapons and Boss AI.
Killing Kane
  • Kane's King Crab KGC-0000 replaced with the KGC-KANE hero mech.
  • New ComStar BattleMaster BLR-CG hero mech added to boss garrison.
  • ComStar Marauder MAD-3R and Black Knight BL-7-KNT added to boss garrison.
  • ComStar Panther PNT-9R replaced with a Highlander HGN-733.

Reckoning
  • Yamata's Annihilator ANH-1A replaced with the ANH-ROM hero mech.
  • ComStar Flea FLE-15 (x2) and Firestarter FS9-E replaced with a Highlander HGN-732b, Black Knight BL-7-KNT, and Thunderbolt TDR-5SS.
  • Nikolai's stashed Nightstar NSR-9J replaced with the NSR-ISR hero mech.
  • Annihilator ANH-1A and Nightstar NSR-9J mission rewards replaced with the ANH-ROM and NSR-ISR.
  • ComStar mechs use Tier 5 weapons.
Crucible
  • Encounterable Black Knight BL-P-KNT hero mech is added as a mission reward.
  • Added three new boss heroes to fight and receive as rewards: the Archer ARC-ORD, the Awesome AWS-EXP, and the Highlander HGN-PRC.
  • New Black Inferno spawns have been mixed in with the ComStar ones.
  • Enemies, except bosses, all use Elite AI with improved piloting skills and Tier 5 weapons.

Legend of the Kestrel Lancers
Operation GALAHAD Pt. 2
  • Ardan Sortek's vanilla Victor VTR-DS is now received as a mission reward.
  • Ardan Sortek now uses his unique AI behavior.
  • Swapped on of Sortek's lancemates for an Archer ARC-2K.
Tikonov Pt. 2
  • Added the Dervish DV-SHT and Raven RVN-INT hero mechs as boss encounters and mission rewards.
  • Liao mechs in the final encounter have higher skill levels and weapons.
  • Changed out some mechs in the final encounter and added in a Marauder MAD-3R, Stalker STK-3F, and Longbow LGB-7Q.
Tikonov Pt. 3
  • The Cataphract CTF-DFD has been added as a new boss and reward.
  • Boss lancemates have higher skill levels and access to weapons.
  • Swapped one of the boss lance Cataphracts for a Crusader CRD-3L.
Tigress Pt. 1
  • Added the Wolverine WVR-IRG hero as a boss encounter and reward.

Tigress Pt. 3

Radstadt Pt. 2
  • Replaced the DLC3 Hatamoto-Chi HTM-ON with the new Hatamoto-Chi HTM-ON2 as the final campaign boss and reward.
  • Ronin enemies now use a color scheme inspired by the canon Ronin paint.
  • All enemies, except bosses, now use Elite AI with improved piloting skills and weapons.
  • Swapped out some chassis for new ones, including a Longbow LGB-7Q, Highlander HGN-733, and a Banshee BNC-3S.

OTHER ADDITIONS
  • Enemy boss mechs and lances had their AI skill increased.
  • Boss mechs do not have a firing delay and no longer focus down the player. They also spawn with Tier 5 weapons in their loadouts.
  • Custom hero skins for most heroes.
  • All new heroes are available within Career and Instant Action for use.

POTENTIAL CONFLICTS
  • Incompatible with the original Campaign Villain Mechs, obviously.
  • Any mod that modifies the main story's starter mechs.
  • Any mod that changes aspects of the above missions and the mech unit cards associated with them.

FUTURE UPDATES
With the addition of the extra main campaign heroes and the abundance added to the Kestrel Lancers and Rasalhague missions, this mod is feature complete. With Call to Arms, Dragon's Gambit, and Solaris having a pretty good mix of unique mechs, I don't think there's much else to add for now. Other than watching out for bug reports and any possible issues with future game updates/DLC, the mod will be going dormant.
