Notes
After a new MechWarrior 5 patch is released, start the game once before trying to apply a new profile. MW5-LOC needs to read the correct version information from the files that are updated by MW5 after a new version is once run. Otherwise MW5 will disable your mods again on startup. Always save presets for your mods!
If you are using or used certain other load order utility like LOM the original load order of the displayed mods will be incorrect. LOM destructively overwrites the mod author's configured old load order with no way of restoring it. The original load order display can only be restored by reinstalling the affected mods. Known exception to this is LOTS and Mod Organizer which both backup original load order data. MW5-LOC is capable of restoring the original load order data when LOTS or Mod Organizer have been used before.
You can restore the stock MechWarrior load order by using the Mods -> Sort by default load order command. The mods will be ordered in the same way as MechWarrior 5 would load it without a mod manager
Using the file archive import functionality in LOC omits files that are not within in the required mod folder layout and are not used by MW5. If the mod your are importing has separate readme files or documentation included in the file archive, you have to extract these separately. These files will show as skipped in the extract dialog.
Background
MW5-LOC is a fork of rjtwins' original MW5-LoadOrderManager 1 (LOMv1). Not to be confused with LOMv2, the later version that, despite its release, lacked several key features and had still a user interface that felt pretty much unfinished to this date. I stuck with LOMv1 for a long time despite its shortcomings, I found that other alternative load order managers either lacked essential features, were unstable, broke mods, or just had unintuitive workflows. My goal with MW5-LOC is to have a stable platform, that is intuitive to use, offers advanced features while retaining the integrity of all installed mods.
