Use Snakebite
BEFORE you install or update this mod:

If you are updating: UN-INSTALL the previous version first (Don't just install and overwrite).
1. Un-Equip ALL weapons that are about to be modded:
(This is actually not a requirement - it's just a recommendation - it's ok to "gamble" and skip this step).

1. Make sure that you don't have the weapons being modded equipped,
or in any other loadout selection. (Not required, but recommended).
2. Remove any customized weapon about to be modded from the customization slot(s).
(This step is also optional, but there is a small risk that your customized weapon will not be "refreshed" with any new changes
that comes along with the mod - if there are any).
3. Un-equip (optional), and force a save in the ACC (highly recommended).
To be on the safe side:
3b. Remove any customized weapon about to me modded. (Optional, but recommended).
3c. Go into Free-Roam and equip any other weapon(s)
than the ones in this mod. (Optional, but recommended).
3d. When the helicopter cutscene starts,
you can cancel and go back to the ACC. (Highly recommended).
This will trigger the game to save.
Exit and continue with the installation.
(Now would be a good time to make a backup of your save files, if you want to have that extra security).
To make sure that this works properly:

If your game goes online by default,
you may not even see the weapon at all.
make sure your game starts OFFLINE, install the mod,
and then start the game.
Build or customize the weapon, save - exit,
and then you should be good to go online again.
Starting the game OFFLINE:
I can think of different ways to make sure the game starts offline:
1. Start the game with your steam client offline.
2. Use the Offline Startup Mod (Installs via SnakeBite).
3. Use my Internet Toggler program:

AFTER you have done all of the above:
Open SnakeBite and click "Install .MGSV" from the mod manager window.
Select the .mgsv file extracted from my .zip file.
