The graphics and the details are incredible and I am pretty sure you showed the game in the best possible way.
I love the workbench and this interior and the light in this one is fantastic ( and I also love the way the ice looks). And the dramatic and the chaotic details here are great but I like most how the grey tones tie the scenery together : it's a unit beside all the clutter.
I am really impressed - by your pictures and by the look of the game. Thank you.
This series has consistently had some of the best lighting in the industry, and this is even with RTX global illumination off.
Glad you enjoyed these, Anne!
The visual quality of this game is impressive and so is the quality of the way you capture it's atmosphere. Is there a possibility to play this game in God-mode as I am really bad with shooter-games? If yes, this is on my 'must have' list!
I really live all of the pictures and I could clutter you with words, so I picked just three of them: First These colors are so cold and depressing but this light in the sky that reaches out, and lays reflections on the water and the puddle and all the small wet spots on the ground, infiltrates the hopelessness with light. Also I love the comparsion of the structure of the bush with the electricity pylon. This picture shows it's beauty only after a while. Would be difficult to describe in german, so I hope you get what I mean.
Second I am not really sure what it is with this one - might be the nearly imperceptible change from the warmth (and warm colors) arround the fire, towards the chill (and cold colors) outside. Warmth and safty against the cold and danger - but all so fragile, as there are only broken windows and thin walls between this two places and states.
And last but not lest (on contrary - this is my favorite) Third That surreal white ball of the sun (?) and it's reflection on the water, thet light light-seam on the car wreck, the graphical from the branches and these wonderful ground-structure - all together this one is just perfect for me.
Sorry again for the many words but I was in need to tell you this.
Thank you!
Metro Exodus has a difficulty setting available that they call "reader" which is designed for people who are purely interested in the atmosphere/narrative of the game. I haven't tried it myself, but it's described as having plentiful resources and pretty simple combat.
And the sun is really the only bright spot (no pun intended) on this bleak landscape. It's actually reflected in the gameplay as well, as all of the nasty irradiated beasts come out to stalk you in the dark! It can create some beauty in the cold landscape though :)
I really enjoyed the different colors of the light sources in that shot as well, it made that abandoned plane just cozy enough for a rest.
And that last shot is a moonrise of a full moon. I took a few and my favorite was the moon just peeking out behind the mountains, like an ominous sign of the dangers that lurk behind those dark branches.
Thanks for the comments!
And one of the benefits of a more linear game is that a good developer will tweak every location/vantage to look perfect. Glad you enjoyed them!
That looks extremely interesting! You have chosen great angles and image sections. And as always: I love your attention for details!
Glad you enjoyed them, thank you!
Thanks Quinten!
Thanks Frank!
Thanks Ian
Great captures, Dylan.
Thanks!
