Despite this, we still received so many fantastic submissions, and once again it was incredibly tough to pick our winners. As I mentioned last time, we understand that everyone will have their own favourites, but let’s keep comments positive and light-hearted. After all, this competition was meant to be fun, and we want to ensure our winners feel respected and celebrated.
We’re also excited to share some news with you all. We are officially partnering with the Virtual Photography Awards, specifically for the Creative category! So, if you didn’t place in our competition this time, you still have a chance to win an even bigger one by entering theirs. You can find more details on their website here.
Right, let’s dive into the winners!
1st Place - SeekingAsy1um: We chose this as our first-place winner because it captured the spirit of Christmas so beautifully. From the homely background and festive outfit to the warm lighting and reshade, it all combined to create a dreamy, cosy vibe that reminded us of childhood Christmases.
2nd Place - nexbil01: We loved this scene of a couple doing their best to create and enjoy Christmas with their children in the dystopian world of Fallout 4. The added touch of presenting it as a magazine cover really stood out to us, suggesting that other families might see it and feel inspired with hope for the holidays.
3rd Place - Strifehart: This entry stood out for its subtlety. Instead of a big family gathering, it depicted an intimate Christmas, just a couple enjoying the moment together. It’s a touching reminder that everyone celebrates the holidays differently and that our ‘found family’ is just as important.
1st Place - Breezypunk: We thought this scene was enchanting, mixing elements we associate with a Winter Wonderland—especially for those who’ve experienced London’s iconic holiday fair.
2nd Place - IronGauntlet: This submission impressed us with its lighting, composition, and choice of reshade. We could almost hear the crunch of icy grass beneath their feet and feel the crisp, wintry breeze in the forest.
3rd Place - superliuk: This image transported us to a peaceful winter’s morning. It perfectly captured that moment of waking up, making a warm drink, and gazing out at the quiet, sleepy world.
1st Place - Olympus2917: We loved this creative take on Hans Christian Andersen’s tale The Little Match Girl. The burning match and the comforting Christmas scene glimpsed through the window made for a classic interpretation of this bittersweet story.
2nd Place - Willythewoodelf: This visually stunning scene feels like the perfect ending to an old wintery folktale, or scene from a festive film.
3rd Place - IcelandicPsychotic: We loved this inventive take on a festive creature. The effort put into retexturing the skeleton specifically for this submission added an extra layer of creativity that we really admired.
Once again a huge congratulations to all our winners and runners-up! You can also find all the submissions for each category in our forums here.
