I did a couple of hunts to test it and it seems like it works but im not 100% sure as this is my first time attempting a mod, even if a simple one. I will not be taking requests to change it, but I can give a tutorial on how to do it:
Extracting:
1. Download ree-pak-rs, then open it
2. drag your 40 GB pak file onto the window. You can find it in the same location as MonsterHunterWilds.exe.
You can find that by going onto steam, highlighting Wilds, right click, then select, "browse local files"
3. Extract the STM > GameDesign files from the game's .pak. You should get a natives folder on where you had chosen to extract it.
More specifically, all you need is natives\STM\GameDesign\Otomo\DataParam\OtomoToolParam.user.3. This is what contains the data on palico tools.
Thankfully, ree pak rs allows for selective extraction of files so you don't have to unpack the the entire pak file.
Editing
4. Download MHWS Editor, then read its description for usage, although I already covered the extraction proccess.
5. Open your extracted file, then using MHWS Editor, you want to open the table for each tool and adjust the cooldown (higher = less frequent use of that tool) and the HealValue for the heals. Values you may want to edit seem to be in seconds. (3600 on instant revive translates to 60 minutes)
6. Save it when you are satisfied, then place the natives folder in the games directory or compress it into a rar/zip file and install it via fluffy... and you should be good to go.
Shoutouts to Ultros7 for providing a simple tutorial on how to do this. Couldnt have done this without him. And ofc, shout outs to the maker of the above tools for making things simple, easy to understand, and streamlining the proccess.
