Probably not gonna have anymore major updates for the randomizer (if I do it'll probably be a while), still may make bug fix versions so feel free to still leave posts about bugs. Working on some other projects as I've spent a total of about 9-10 months working on this randomizer and kinda want a break from it Thanks for playing and enjoying my randomizer and hope you continue to enjoy it
Hello, i have an issue when i randomize, i have an error and in game monster are not randomized :(
the error: error occured while creating alnk files, skipping rest of alnk creation (monster pathing won't fully work): index was outside the bounds of the array
Would it be possible for a user to modify the randomizer to exclude certain armor skills?
I was really excited to try random armor skills, but there has to be at least 2 or 3 dozen that instantly brick armor pieces, such as 4 or 5 gathering skills, bunch of skills related to small monsters, carving pro, slinger skills like blindsider and dungmaster, fishing skills, transport skills, scoutfly skills, niche skills like effluvia resist and muck resist are ALL over the place.
Also jump master and master mounter are on TONS of pieces, maybe due to weighting?
Anyway, I would still like to thank you for making the mod, but if there was any way to make an exclusion list or just automatically reroll certain skills, I think it would be the gear part a thousand times more usable.
That would probably be possible to add, but would take some effort and I'm not really working on the randomizer anymore, kinda moved on to modding a completely different game.
I think I didn't have any weighting for any of the skills, so there is a equal chance for it to pick any skill, but can see how weighting could be nice, but that would also require having to go through every skill and assign a weight to it.
Sorry that I don't really plan to work on a solution for it right now, but glad you're enjoying the mod
Sorry, I don't really have any plans for that, and I'm also mainly just focusing on modding a completely different game now. Also not sure how I would go about implementing that if I did work on it
I just used C# with WPF. I just decided to make the source code public, this is a older project when I was also still a bit early in learning C#, so some of the code is kinda bad (kinda mainly with how some of the stuff in the data classes are), I never really ended up refactoring it because I was already mostly done with the randomizer by the time I was thinking of refactoring it and it wouldn't have really changed anything about the randomization. Here's the link to the randomizer code, https://github.com/ElusiveFluffy/MHW-Randomizer, if you do end up making a archipelago version, could you please be sure to credit me on it, thanks
I was gonna private message you here with my username but for some reason the message page won't load. If you want to you can send me your discord username and I'll add you
I used the option that makes the monster icons unknown how do i restore the monster icons as ive pressed remove randomized files and theyve not went back to normal
Thats odd, that should have worked. If you click on the remove randomized files button again it should remove all files that the randomizer can create (it'll popup with a warning the the randomized.json file can't be found, but it should be fine). or you can manually remove it, if you have no mods installed you can delete everything in the nativePC folder or just the "ui" folder. If you have other mods installed and don't want to remove them, then just delete the cmn_micon00_ID, cmn_micon01_ID, and cmn_micon00M_ID in the ui > common > tex folder
It'd be awesome if min size% and max size% were individual from random monsters. Was hoping I could play through the game normally, but monsters could be anywhere from 1/4th their size to 4x their size.
Unfortunately I probably won't really be making a change like that, I would have to change how the randomization code works for that to be possible, and try to get it to work with how everything is currently set up with it

Is it compatible with multiplayer?
